Job Summary: BirchStreet is seeking an experienced Director of SaaS/Cloud Operations to lead our cloud operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the

deployment, production outages, monitoring and ongoing maintenance of our SaaS and cloud-based applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The Director of SaaS/Cloud Operations will work closely with other development leaders, technology leaders, product managers, and business stakeholders to ensure that our technology solutions meet business needs and drive customer success.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and solutions
• Develop and manage cloud operations budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently in both production and development environments
• Lead and manage a team of cloud operations professionals, including cloud DBAs, engineers, and administrators
• Define and implement best practices for incident management, change management, and capacity planning
• Develop and implement strategies for managing our SaaS and cloud-based applications, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
• Drive continuous improvement in our SaaS and cloud operations processes, leveraging automation and other technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Work closely with product management and development teams to ensure that our SaaS and cloud-based applications meet customer needs and exceed expectations

Qualifications

• Cloud Formation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Strong understanding of SaaS and cloud-based architectures, including cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and microservices
• Agile
• Experience in a SaaS-based company preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
• Ansible
• Strong understanding of DevOps best practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Jenkins
• 10+ years of experience in cloud operations or related role, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
• Terraform
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud or Google Cloud Platform
• Demonstrated success in managing cloud operations teams, with a track record of delivering high-quality services and solutions
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as New Relic, AppDynamics, Datadog, Prometheus or Nagios
