Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Business Development Partner. The Business Development Partner will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and developing and implementing sales strategies. The role is located in New York, NY, with flexibility for some remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Foster long-term relationships with clients, proactively addressing their concerns, providing exceptional customer service, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
- Proposal Development: Prepare persuasive proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value proposition and benefits of our legal outsourcing services.
- Negotiation and Closing: Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and other commercial terms to secure new client partnerships.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within target organizations, including attorneys, legal operations managers, and C-level executives.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments for potential clients to understand their legal outsourcing requirements, challenges, and objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of competitors.
- Client Acquisition: Identify and engage with law firms, corporate legal departments, and other potential clients to generate leads and convert them into active clients.
- Business Development Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to target and engage potential clients in the legal industry.
- Solution Tailoring: Collaborate with internal teams to create customized legal outsourcing solutions that align with clients' specific needs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective services.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, legal, finance, and marketing, to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess clients' requirements and devise effective solutions.
- Ability to travel as needed
- Results-Driven: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and drive business growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving market trends and client demands.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, client acquisition, or sales roles within the legal industry, with a specific focus on legal outsourcing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sales and Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successfully acquiring new clients and closing deals, with excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software
- Legal Outsourcing Expertise: In-depth knowledge and understanding of legal outsourcing services, including document review, legal research, contract management, eDiscovery, and compliance support.
- Industry Network: Strong existing network and relationships within the legal industry, including law firms, corporate legal departments, and legal associations.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive and self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Experience in the financial or legal industry is a plus
- Client-Centric Approach: Ability to understand clients' business challenges, articulate value propositions, and develop tailored solutions to address their needs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus.
