ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, CORPORATE OPERATIONS
Summary
The primary function of this role will be to manage or lead key improvement and evolution projects within Ionis. You will manage or lead cross-functional teams to define, plan, deliver, and implement key initiatives and projects to support Ionis’ corporate strategies and evolution plans. This role will be required to work with team members from business units from across the organization to collaboratively build project plans and deliver those projects. This is both a strategic and facilitative role that requires excellent diplomacy skills. This position will play a critical role in driving corporate improvement and evolution projects forward. This role will be the primary go-between identifying and facilitating key interdependencies and collaborations across the company (i.e., G&A, Commercial, Development, Research, etc.) to ensure alignment so that projects supporting our corporate strategies, objectives, priorities, and evolution to a FIBCO rapidly progress.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct meetings (Preparing agendas, meeting materials, meeting minutes, and tracking action items)
  • Suggest and organize team-building activities.
  • Estimate the scope of work and resources required. (FTEs & Funds)
  • Manage project resources and budget.
  • Work with team members to objectively assess and resolve project and operational issues by identifying root causes as opportunities to improve effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain an effective channel of communication with team members.
  • Prioritize the most important tasks, track and ensure that key deliverables are completed as planned.
  • Strategic Problem Solving
  • Build and maintain strong and supportive relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Assess project and initiative “status vs. plan” and proactively recommend corrective actions to get projects and initiatives back on plan if required.
  • Generate insights into external best practices and peer company strategies, positively impacting our journey to becoming an FIBCO.

  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply innovative technologies, strategies, and approaches that enhance the team’s ability to achieve goals and meet timelines/deliverables.

  • Knowledge of the commercialization process for development-stage pharmaceutical assets.
