This is a new position responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy for a diverse range of business and marketing communications to broadly improve the awareness of Vuori and amplify its position as a leading innovator in performance apparel. This role will be responsible for both internal and external communications messaging and strategy. The role will ensure the company is appropriately and strategically positioned with analysts, investors, and all stakeholders. This individual will also be responsible for all corporate communications, including corporate visibility, alignment with corporate strategy, and public affairs. This position is responsible for creating the appropriate strategy, framework, and tactics, as well as providing a comprehensive and compelling corporate communications roadmap. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on builder with excellent strategic, communications, interpersonal and business skills. It also requires the ability to carefully manage relationships outside the company.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
- Collaborate with and counsel executive leadership on internal communications strategies, initiatives and materials to better inform and engage employees
- Lead the Internal Communications function and strategy, overseeing the team that is responsible for keeping employees up to date on Vuori’s goals, progress, new initiatives and ongoing efforts on behalf of our stakeholders
- Provide strategic guidance and support to senior leadership on how to craft narratives and develop and convey compelling content to engage and inspire their own teams and the broader company
- Partner with External Communications counterparts and other key functions to effectively align Vuori’s storytelling across all internal and external audiences
- Work with your team to continue to assess and optimize existing channels for Internal Communications to strengthen all employees’ understanding of company strategy and culture, while also spearheading the exploration of new and innovative ways to reach and engage a diverse range of internal audiences
- Leverage existing and create new events and opportunities that will deepen Vuori’s employees’ connection to each other, the business and our mission, and partner with internal stakeholders to map a companywide annual calendar of events
CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS:
- Place media stories that sustain/advance Vuori’s standing as a leader and, likewise, combat false headlines and correct misinformation in news coverage
- Work cross-functionally with business units to craft communication plans that influence the thinking and behavior of key audiences that thoughtfully promote Vuori
- Drive the Vuori narrative in the media and serve as the initial clearing house for issues-related external-facing corporate communications materials to ensure consistency and alignment
- Track and analyze emergent issues and develop guidance on when, where, and how to engage
- Develop and execute on crisis response strategy and playbook
- Shape stakeholder engagement strategies and lead on major issues and crisis planning
- Partner with the leadership, legal, and compliance teams to develop and deploy a comprehensive response plan
- Promote and protect Vuori’s public story
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, grow performance capabilities, and handle shifting priorities - able to thrive in ambiguity.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in a Corporate Communications role
- Applies strategic thinking to every project and maintains a clear focus on business priorities with a strong attention to the details
- Demonstrated strength in building relationships both internally and externally, with a diverse group of employees at all levels.
- Ability to partner with, guide, and field requests from multiple business partners
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand complex topics and use strong communication skills to distill details into simple and actionable communications for large audiences
- Strong communicator and trusted partner who excels in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Pay Range:$150,000 - $175,000
