POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides daily clerical and administrative support to the personnel in the Wellness Center for Health and Counseling.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
- Trains and Supervises work study students.
- Trains new employees on Electronic Medical Records and Office Policy and Procedures.
- Understands and utilizes medical terminology.
- Controls schedule for Physician Assistant, Nurse, and Nurse Manager.
- Answers phone and complete call or transfer to appropriate person.
- Knowledge of HIPPA regulations when transferring records to another higher education institution or medical office upon request.
- Completes data entry into Point and Click.
- Greets students and ensures all paperwork is completed.
- Scans all incoming medical records into EMR document files.
- Scans and inputs current insurance documentation for every patient visit.
- Maintains confidentiality of all records and events.
- Provides coverage for the Administrative Assistant to the Counseling Center for school breaks and vacations.
- Schedules appointments and confirm patient information is up to date.
- Accounts for money/Key Bank credit card transactions.
- Maintains and reports patient statistics.
- Maintains all active and archived medical records.
- Assists and maintains immunization records for New York State compliance, both paper form and EMR.
- Recognizes a student in distress or in need of immediate care.

Job Requirements:
- Detail oriented with good organization skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Tactful, friendly and professional demeanor.
- Business courses or experience in office work duties such scheduling appointments, composing letters, and phone calls.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office, hospital or other medical setting.
- Computer competency in Word, Excel, Datatel and Point and Click.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical office, hospital or other medical setting; college office experience will be considered.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
