Our client is looking to hire a VP of Corporate Development for an immediate need. Unbelievable opportunity to join a dynamic and outstanding culture with room for growth and plenty of stability.
- Position - Corporate Development Manager
- 9+ years of experience
- 100% remote
- Salary - $225,000 - $275,000 + 25% and $50k LTI
- Must live in Florida
- Develop and drive strategies for business growth and optimization across the organization that reflect and drive institutional objectives.
- Drive discussions and awareness with the senior leadership team and Board of Trustees on external landscape reviews/ competitive analysis, scenario analysis, and initiatives prioritization.
- Working cross-functionally to develop post-closing integration and go-forward plans.
- Driving valuation, structuring, negotiation and closing workflows including ownership of financial models to support valuation and establish key benchmarks for post-close planning.
- Maintaining acquisition playbook to streamline the process and drive scale.
- Engage external business and industry experts to learn and influence business strategies, constantly remaining alert and forward-thinking about opportunities and risks in the industry. Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in relevant areas impacting the organization.
- Oversee the organization’s institution-level survey program, as well as general market research functions to support new initiative decision making and compliance requirements. Coordinate and guide market research resources (internal and external) to support research as required.
- Take a hands-on role on all aspects of the M&A initiatives:
- Effectively represent the organization to external constituents including customers, partners, acquisition targets, and investment bankers.
- Maintain knowledge of industry-wide perspective on major trends, including macro-economic, micro-economic, customer needs, financial markets, regulatory, technology, etc.
- Serving as the primary interface with target companies, external advisors and other outside parties throughout transactions
- Building relationships with potential acquisition targets or partners and a robust and growing network of contacts in targeted industries including investment bankers, equity firms and strategic partners.
- Lead day to day activities on M&A and corporate development initiatives from ideation through post-closing integration. Actively engage with senior leadership to identify opportunities and understand roadmaps/ needs to help inform deal sourcing and priorities.
- Planning, structuring and leading due diligence.
- Developing and delivering internal leadership updates and board communications
- Establishing a diversified long-term pipeline of strategic acquisition and partnership opportunities that align to key business objective.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders including Legal, Finance, Strategy, Compliance, IT and other teams throughout the transaction process.
Team Member Leadership
- Set clear expectations for all team members; analyze goals, activities, and results to determine action plans to improve individual and team performance per stated performance management guidelines.
- Create and implement an effective onboarding plan for every team member within the functions managed.
- Ensure that UMA values are being demonstrated and policies are being followed.
- Build a strong culture of accountability and high performance.
- Recruit, train, and develop a team with skills and experience aligned to meet needs and the market with a focus on retention of top performers.
Qualifications:
Candidates for the position should have the following minimum qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant work experience. Work experience at a credible investment bank, strategy consulting firm, private equity, venture capital firm or corporate development team is preferred
· Experience in settings that require critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Must have a demonstrated ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions, to multi-task and to thrive in an unstructured environment
· Strong project management skills including ability to drive multiple end-to-end projects simultaneously
· Interest in ecommerce & web-based businesses
· Having a flexible work style along with a sense of humor built on a foundation of personal integrity, humility and an appreciation for the power of team-work
