Summary

The successful candidate will help manage and formulate high level strategic and tactical initiatives across Mizuho Americas for the Corporate Development Group, with a concentration on the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB). The role will focus on in-depth analysis of several key areas, including financial markets, product development, and business optimization. This will entail working across the organization to collect information and garner stakeholder consensus, in addition to compiling market intelligence. The job will include a wide range of responsibilities that are centered on developing and implementing the strategic goals of the organization in the Americas region.

Corporate Development & Strategy provides several key functions within Mizuho Americas:

• Principal Investments
• Corporate Change Initiatives
• Strategy (Firmwide & Business Specific)
• Mergers & Acquisitions
• Digital Innovation
• Executive Office Support

Core Responsibilities

• Formulate presentation materials on product/business strategies and specific initiatives for senior management
• Perform and maintain competitor/industry research, along with regular reporting for senior management
• Help to identify and execute business optimization opportunities across the organization
• Prepare and implement product strategies, including driving the process from start to finish (high level planning to launch)

Qualifications

• Acute business, analytical, statistical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor’s degree (finance, business or accounting preferable). MBA preferred
• Strong communication, written and organizational skills, including the ability to formulate complex or ambiguous data into compelling narratives
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work as a team player, accept substantial individual responsibility and proactively create value for the team
• Demonstrated interest in exploring and understanding financial markets and the corporate and investment banking industry
• Minimum 3 or more years of banking or consulting experience

The expected base salary ranges from $67,500.00. - $135,000.00. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
