Manage distressed loans to drive financial recovery. Contribute to innovative solutions leading to impactful outcomes. About Our Client The bank is a prominent financial institution operating worldwide, dedicated to delivering exceptional service, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable growth. The team focuses on credit risk underwriting and management of new and existing project finance transactions in the renewable energy, power, natural resource, and infrastructure sectors across North and South America. Your role involves evaluating proposed transactions, providing recommendations to credit approvers, and monitoring credit exposure in portfolios and individual accounts. You will engage in direct dialogue with deal teams, offering insights on credit and structuring issues. While expertise in independent credit analysis of project finance transactions is preferred, relevant sector and financial experience will also be considered. Major Responsibilities: Evaluation of new transactions: Analyze credit proposals and deal screening memos, providing written credit recommendations to management. Identify risks and potential mitigants in prospective transactions, offering recommendations aligned with internal policies, credit appetite, and market standards. Maintain close collaboration with origination teams and portfolio management, effectively balancing business opportunities with prudent risk management. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to gather necessary information and analysis for credit decisions. Active portfolio monitoring: Conduct regular and ad-hoc credit monitoring of individual exposures, with increased focus on lower-rated and problem loans. Evaluate credit review applications within the assigned portfolio, assign accurate ratings, and make recommendations to management. Undertake site visits, due diligence, and attend meetings with banks and customers as needed. Coordinate and communicate critical account information to various internal stakeholders. Contribute to special projects such as new product initiatives, policy development, and sector reviews. The Successful Applicant Experience/Abilities: Possess strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Exhibit excellent time-management and organizational abilities. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of credit and risk principles, as well as relevant financial products. Show prior experience and knowledge in relevant industry sectors, including structure/financial/cashflow analysis. Hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in credit and/or risk-related functions in financial institutions and/or rating agencies, or 5 years of project finance experience.
