The Corporate Affairs – Strategy & Operations role is an integral part of the team, supporting the Chief Operating Officer. Given the small size of the team, the candidate will be able to make a meaningful contribution and will gain exposure to senior members of the business.


The Strategy & Operations role will involve both quantitative and qualitative skills and will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of areas within Corporate Affairs at Blackstone. The candidate will play an essential role in the team’s work and will have the opportunity to lead strategic initiatives across the group. The candidate will be expected to work on multiple projects at once and will collaborate with colleagues at all levels, gaining significant exposure to all aspects of Corporate Affairs, including Public Affairs, Marketing, and ESG.


Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the overall Corporate Affairs group and the underlying objectives of each team.
  • Preparing annual budget for the Corporate Affairs organization.
  • Refresh financial reporting monthly, along with a detailed variance analysis and assessment of key drivers.
  • Forecasting, variance analysis and reporting key financial metrics.
  • Support strategic planning process.
  • Provide status updates on project expenditure across all expenses.
  • Preparing ad hoc analysis, presentations and project status reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Partnering with key team members to improve business processes, change management, and implement overall strategy.
  • Development and implementation of a wide range of internal and external business management objectives.
  • Developing project plans and leading special projects.
  • Maintain and update organizational charts across Public Affairs, Marketing and ESG.
  • Support change management coordination for various process improvements.
  • Strategic Support / Project Management
  • Manage revenue and expenses processes / tracking as well as liaison with HR for headcount tracking.
  • Assist in creating the strategic plan for the Corporate Affairs team across Public Affairs, Marketing and ESG.
  • Management Reporting / Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Develop and maintain documentation of invoicing procedures for each expense account and maintain expense P&L. Manage the coding and approval of team expenses and invoices.


Qualifications:


Corporate Affairs seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated ability to write effectively, a strong ability to effectively communicate and persuade with a wide variety of partners/stakeholders, and a desire to work both independently and collaboratively in a lean and growing team.


The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience. Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or finance background is helpful, but not required.

Expected annual base salary range:


$110,000 - $170,000


Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.


Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
