Senior People Operations Generalist
Location: Remote, USA
Growth Ops Advisory is on a mission to enable small businesses to become extraordinary organizations by building self-sustaining people and culture ecosystems. We work with a broad spectrum of companies in various stages and industries; while growing pains are similar across our companies, and we’ve solved for them before, we’re always focused on embedding our clients’ unique needs, priorities, values, and culture into the way their business and their people work together.
Reports to: People Ops Manager(s)
Manages: None
Job Summary:
We are looking for an organized, knowledgeable, perceptive and resourceful individual to join our team as a Senior People Operations Generalist. You thrive collaborating with People Ops Leadership and clients to build sustainable people and culture infrastructure that fits their unique business needs. You are an adaptable executor with a desire to understand the bigger picture. You can work with people of a variety of backgrounds and you build trust and rapport with others quickly. You are a problem solver, undaunted by tackling ill-defined problems or the challenge of building from the foundation during organizations’ formative stages.
The Role:
- Be a great steward of everyone’s time and resources. Participate in project management through taking ownership of your work progress, prioritization, roadblocks, and timelines.
- Alongside people leadership, identify, dig into, and (re)build clients’ people and culture infrastructure towards their north star.
- Obtain a deep knowledge of who our clients are: their values, goals, operations, and challenges. Match their communication style, and establish close working relationships with their team.
- Stay up to date on upcoming legislation and emerging industry trends to provide proactive, thoughtful consultation to our clients about how to implement best practices in light of their culture and values.
- Have your “head on a swivel” looking out for where and how you can proactively step up and in to support clients.
- Support implementation of bespoke policies, processes, and systems to support our clients’ evolution.
- Anticipate potential stumbling blocks and needs; ideate multiple solutions, strategies, and options for management consideration before something becomes a problem.
The Ideal Candidate:
- You possess a growth mindset; every day is a new day to continuously improve.
- You are able to execute high quality work within a team and independently.
- You are tech savvy. You can easily adapt to new systems and work cohesively across many digital tools.
- You desire to understand the bigger picture and how things “fit” together.
- You are a true HR/People Ops generalist. You know a lot about a lot- but you know where your edges are and you collaborate with specialists to learn more and to provide an excellent client experience.
- Responsibility and integrity are central to who you are. You are above reproach.
- You can read people - what they are saying; and not saying.
- You are curious about the world and people around you. You ask high-quality questions to get to know both more deeply.
- You are an articulate and professional written and verbal communicator.
- You desire to understand how small businesses operate, and how they grow.
- You adeptly context switch and thrive on variety. You are confident in managing competing priorities. Your organizational skills keep you and your team mates on track.
Qualifications:
- Experience with multiple PEOs and ATS’ is a bonus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced, high-change environment.
- Ability to travel/ be on site with clients as needed (We do the vast majority of our work remotely, but travel onsite may be asked of you if you live within commuting distance of a client requesting/needing in person support).
- 2 - 3+ years of progressive responsibility as an HR generalist. Experience with recruiting is not required, but strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Organizational Sciences, Business or HR Certified in SHRM-CP and PHR is a plus.
- HR experience in a small business (>200 employees) is required. Multi-state experience, and experience working with remote and brick and mortar businesses is strongly preferred.
Total Compensation at GO:
- 🤩 10 Holidays (including your birthday off! 🥳)
- This position is exempt; $68,096-$85,120 DOE
- 🌴 20 days (four weeks) of Vacation per year
- 🖨 Home office stipend provided

One last thing…
We grew from three employees at the end of 2021 to eight employees at the end of 2022, and we’re just getting started. In 2023, our business model, internal operations and brand are intentionally shifting from an emphasis on execution to a balance of strategy, coaching, and execution. We’re a collective of down to earth, human-loving, people operations geeks looking to turn small businesses into extraordinary organizations through building self sustaining people and culture ecosystems. If getting in on the ground floor of something extraordinary sounds rewarding to you, you’re in the right place! Let’s GO!
