The Opportunity
As a member of the Patient Eligibility Team, the Patient Eligibility Specialist will be responsible for working with patients and insurance plans to ensure that all patients are assigned to One Medical for the duration of their care. This position is ideal for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is detail-oriented and persistent. Reporting to the Manager, Patient Eligibility
This is a full-time role based remotely anywhere in the United States; hours are either 8am-5pm MDT or 9am-6pm MDT.
What You'll Work On

• Communicating with insurance company call center representatives to resolve issues with patient eligibility
• Exceeding daily outreach targets
• Following communication "scripts" when handling different topics
• Answering inbound calls from the Patient Enrollment team to assist new patients with changing their primary care provider to One Medical with their insurance plan.
• Escalating issues to the appropriate individual per documented protocols
• Documenting eligibility activity in salesforce.com in a timely and accurate manner
• Listening for indications of patient dissatisfaction, and completing the outlined service recovery steps in order to help One Medical retain the patient
• Reviewing daily reports to identify patients who need to have their primary care provider updated
• Calling existing patients to help them change their provider to One Medical with their insurance plan.

What You'll Need

• Experience using salesforce.com or similar CRM tools, preferred but not required
• 1+ year experience in complex health insurance verification, medical billing, or patient eligibility determination
• Dependability and adaptability
• 1+ year experience working in a high volume call role
• Proficient with computers
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus
• Have worked in fast-paced, results-driven work atmosphere
• Strong Customer Service skills

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.50-$37.00. However, actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate. These factors include, but are not limited to, job related knowledge and skill set, depth of experience, certifications and/or degrees, and specific work location.
The total compensation package for certain roles may also include additional components such as a sign-on bonus, annual performance bonus, equity grants in the form of RSUs, medical and other benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
