Billing Specialist- Remote ($16.00 - $18.00 / Hour)

Minimum Qualifications

• Effective communication skills with physicians, patients, and the public
• Ability to establish good working relationships with internal and external customers
• Two to three years of billing experience in a physician's practice

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior coding experience with CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA Certification

Essential Functions

• Update and confirm information for claims processing
• Review insurance denials and determine next steps
• Maintain productivity and accuracy metrics
• Make and receive calls to collect on outstanding balances
• Complete daily requests and resolve account balance obstacles
• Identify and communicate trends and potential issues to management
• Follow all employer policies and procedures
• Provide subject matter expert education on billing and coding guidelines
• Attach referrals/authorizations to appointments/charges
• Abstract data from medical records for proper coding
• Research information needed for billing process
• Maintain productivity and timeliness of claims reimbursement
