Job Description
Responsibilities:
Peraton is seeking a Jr. Cyber Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a remote position. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton’s United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) program in the Citizen Security & Public Services Sector and Homeland Security business unit. The USCG IMS program delivers a phased journey to mature the delivery of the USCG’s managed IT services. The program is focused on strengthening IT infrastructure, modernizing enterprise solutions, and improving service delivery to enable successful execution of USCG missions and mission support activities.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
  • Configures, installs, maintains and upgrades server applications and hardware.
  • Develops techniques and procedures for conducting IS and cyber security risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents such as intrusion, frauds, attacks or leaks.
  • Ensures that IS and cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures are aligned with IS standards and overall IS and cyber security.
  • Manages the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure within an organization, including the physical network (e.g., LANs/WANs, servers, terminals) as well as server applications and software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle).
  • Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security.
  • Evaluates, tests, recommends, coordinates, monitors and maintains information systems (IS) and cyber security policies, procedures and systems, including access management for hardware, firmware and software.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years demonstrated systems administration experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have a current, active Secret (or higher) clearance or ability to obtain. Interim clearances are acceptable
  • BS Degree and 0-2 years’ experience or a high school diploma/equivalent with minimum 6 years’ experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ITIL 4 or ability to Obtain
  • One or more Cloud based certifications (AZ-900 AWS Practioner are acceptable) Security+ or ability to obtain
