JOB SUMMARY:

AMCON Distributing Company has an immediate opening for a Systems & Network Administrator at our headquarters office in Omaha, NE.

The Systems & Network Administrator will work closely with the Senior Systems & Network Administrator to ensure AMCON’s computer network and overall infrastructure is sound and performing at desired levels. This includes maintaining the current network and implementing new applications to stay on the cutting edge while providing a seamless operational experience and safeguarding intellectual property. The Systems & Network Administrator will also support remote locations (sometimes traveling) to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance and security.
• Ensures the resiliency of all network devices (routers, switches, wireless access points, VPN, VoIP, etc.).
• Communicating networking issues and resolutions to other employees and management, especially during training.
• Perform remote and onsite scheduled maintenance.
• Stay in tune with industry standards and best practices.
• Provide device repair management support for PC’s, laptops, tablets and other devices.
• Technical support manager for network infrastructure and connected experience for all employees.
• Address assigned tickets and tasks and provide service or escalation as necessary.
• Installing and configuring network equipment.
• Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand. Requests will come from various user groups both internal and external.

COMPETENCIES:

• Troubleshoot failures with technical problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge of systems.
• Analyze network malfunctions in high-speed settings to eliminate downtime.
• Collaboration platforms expertise (i.e. MS Teams).
• Ability to prioritize project responsibilities to ensure stable network performance.
• Enhance digital security.
• Systems resiliency and integration experience.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

• Full time, 7:30AM CT - 5:30PM (M-F).

TRAVEL:

• As needed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with VMWare, M365 and replication/failover solutions (Zerto preferred).
• Bachelor's or Advanced degree required.
• Significant coursework or industry experience in Systems & Network Administration.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Project Management and technical support experience a plus.
• Familiarity with iSeries and hosted voice solutions a plus.
• 5+ years in related industry troubleshooting, maintaining and deploying network applications.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

• 18 years of age of older.
• Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
