Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a well-qualified Windows Systems Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals.
The System Administrator will be providing systems administration support as well as providing day-to-day operational support for Northrop Grumman's enterprise Windows Server infrastructure.
Applicants should display excellent technical problem-solving skills, demonstrated experience supporting the Windows Server OS in a medium to large Active Directory environment, end-user support with Windows Server and or other Microsoft products as well as a general understanding of networking, storage technologies, cloud computing (AWS / Azure).
The qualified candidate may be located anywhere within the continental United States near an existing Northrop Grumman facility.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensuring adherence to appropriate standards, policies, principles, and practices.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop creative IT solutions.
  • On-call support to assist in resolving Windows Server outages.
  • OS and hardware level server troubleshooting.
  • Virtual server infrastructure support, project support; incident, change and problem management, implementation & resolution, operating system security & patch management, installation, configuration, upgrade of Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Windows System Administration.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.
  • Implement automation and perform operational tasks using IaC or other scripting focused solutions as well as general scripting as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience working with one or more: Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019, Windows scripting tools and Hypervisor / Virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with or aptitude for developing IaC scripting solutions.
  • Ability to manage projects and use creative thinking to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work with other IT infrastructure as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of HP/IBM/Dell server hardware and Service Management Tools.
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree and 1 year of relevant experience (will consider additional experience in lieu of education ie Associate's degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma and 7 years of relevant experience)
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevOps principles
  • AWS and or Azure certifications highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of SAN and NAS storage technologies.
  • Knowledge of network technologies in a large, distributed environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to create solutions using one or more developments tools or platforms: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, and or markup languages such as YAML / JSON or scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • ITIL and Service Management knowledge
This position reports to Unknown City, VA, USA, however, you are able to work from any of the additional 9 locations listed above.
Salary Range: $70,100 USD - $105,100 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
