Job Description

Our client is looking for a Regional Director of Business Development in either Tampa, Orlando, or Fort Myers Florida. Learn more about the opportunity below:

About the Opportunity:

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Director of Business Development to join their team. As the Regional Director, you will be responsible for driving growth and managing branch locations within your assigned region. This includes achieving company goals, maintaining positive employee relations, and ensuring that company policies and standards are met by each branch. You will also play a crucial role in identifying new market segment opportunities, developing strong customer relationships, and mobilizing the organization to effectively execute new and existing business.


Duties:

- Organically grow a team of sales representatives in a new market

- Determine competitive market costs to set divisional rates and submit bids to customers

- Adjust operational strategy based on the seasonality of transportation demands

- Conduct regular assessments of direct reports' performance and provide appropriate coaching or rewards

- Collaborate with other Regional Directors, offices, and divisions to optimize performance and communication efforts

- Mediate and make final decisions in resolving issues between managers, operations employees, and carriers

- Train new sales representatives on successful calling techniques, recording sales activity, and managing shipments

- Work calmly and efficiently in high-pressure and high-volume situations

- Establish organizational methods, multitasking, and prioritization abilities

- Travel as necessary to maintain and establish customer relations

- Engage customers daily through various communication channels

- Provide rates to customers for potential shipments

- Perform additional duties as assigned


Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the transportation, logistics, or brokerage industry

- At least 3 years of direct team leadership experience

- Proven strategic sales experience

- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, with experience in Salesforce considered a plus

- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills

- Strong communication abilities, including executive and customer presentation skills

- Able to work on-site in Tampa, Orlando, or Fort Myers
