The Provider Information Support Specialist facilitates continual process improvement within the assigned team by conducting process audits and providing effective training. This role delivers effective technical training to associates and serves as the primary point of contact for testing new processes; develops procedures and writes business requirement documents.


What you will do:


  • Represent department on cross-functional teams and meets with internal customers as required.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments, vendors and leadership for system, or procedure changes that require technical user analysis and testing; including input and support for business requirements and database development.
  • Research and identify trends to identify defects and root cause to propose solutions to management.
  • Provide technical support to assigned teams by researching and/or troubleshooting issues related to provider updates, processing, system, and software applications.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
  • Create and provide effective development and delivery of new training material for in-team and classroom instruction, through partnership with the training and quality coaching teams, to outline and implement improvements.
  • Conduct system performance audits to ensure transaction compliance, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with management to manage inventory and create the daily team strategy to meet service levels.
  • Coordinate and manage outgoing provider communication and education/compliance for functions/actions related to regulatory requirements.
  • Research, create, and distribute reports, and identify and create training needs/updates.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement regarding workflow, procedures or policies and make recommendations to management.
  • Serve as a resource for customers and providers by researching complex systems issues and determining appropriate course of action. Escalate issues or concerns to ensure desired results.
  • Provide back-up and peak-load assistance for other training and audit areas as needed; complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provides consistent feedback, spot, and team training for associates by communicating technical process improvements that positively impact team success.


What you will bring:


  • College level coursework.
  • Five years of experience in healthcare insurance industry in a production or customer service setting with two years in provider support (Required).
  • Experience or knowledge of credentialing, contracts, and regulatory standards.
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required).
  • Experience working with provider related data and functions.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.


National Salary Range:


$48,500.00 - $72,700.00


National Plus Salary Range:


$54,800.00 - $82,200.00


  • National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
