Job Description
What To Expect
With Tesla's rapid growth comes the need for scaled up onboarding solutions and leader development. As a People Development Manager your role is to lead partners that support operations and facilitation of New Hire Orientation and Leader Development workshops, both in-person and virtually. In this role you show up with enthusiasm to build connections and show care about the experience of the learner through being inclusive and welcoming to all.
Successful candidates are comfortable leading through ambiguity and juggling priorities while finding creative solutions to challenging business goals which balance business needs, compliance, and regulatory constraints.
What You’ll Do
  • Build close partnership with the business to intimately understand business goals and talent development needs
  • Stakeholder Management – Establish effective relationships and communication with all site-based onboarding/leader development and stakeholders; communicate often, manage expectations, obtain necessary stakeholder support, assist in creation of engaging and interactive presentations. Meet with site stakeholders regularly. Uses direct and honest communication.
  • Partner with Career Development team to build competency mapping by job level for people leaders and map for each respective business
  • Proactively provide reporting to the business and HR Leads on effectiveness of programs and continuously identify areas to build and grow
  • Provide career pathing and development tools for People Development Partners in your org to drive personal development of team members
  • Create strategic plans for succession planning and talent development of employees in the business’ you are supporting
  • Continuous Improvement – Tesla is a globally recognized innovation company solving one of the most difficult problems in existence. Just as our engineers are required to innovate, re-engineer and provide solutions for continuous improvement, so are we!
  • Partner with Core HR and COEs including Employee Relations to identify areas of focus for learning & development. To include building measurements of impact of programs and consistent reporting to business leaders and HRBPs
  • Lead team of People Development Managers that oversee partners that facilitate and lead operations of new hire orientation and leadership workshops for both in-person and virtual across North America
  • Develop strong partnership with the business to provide relevant learning and development tools that meet their needs to hit target goals
  • Build strategic plans to support high-volume hiring while creating an engaging and welcoming new hire experience for all employees in North America.

  • B.S./B.A. in Human Resources, Business, Communications or related degree + min 3-5 years’ experience in human resources, training, general business OR 5+ years related work experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years leading teams is required

  • Expected Compensation
    $76,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
