Job Description
Our mission at Atomic Machines is to bring autonomous bits-to-atoms manufacturing of anything at any scale to the world, and we are well on our way. We are developing an entirely new class of manufacturing foundry for micro- and nano-scale machines, and we are using that foundry to create products the world has heretofore been unable to build. About the role:

We are seeking a passionate People Operations Partner to report to our Head of Strategic Growth and manage all things focused on our internal team. Our POP will be an integral part of the company partnering with every area of the business on all people and organizational topics. Additionally, they will partner with additional People teams as the subject matter expert on designing and executing strategies for onboarding, management training, and goal setting, and growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement and manage the performance review process, onboarding, management training, compensation bands, HRIS system (including running payroll), and employee benefits.
  • Assess training needs, partner with external vendors where needed and/or build training internally, and deliver on the high-impact programs to enable the team to keep growing.
  • Create and manage resources related to people, such as offer letters, PIIAs, NDAs, salary adjustment requests, and internal transfer requests.
  • Develop resources and standards around employee counseling and engagement, performance management, and policies.
  • Conduct HR Audits, compensation analysis, onboarding/offboarding, and new hire training.
  • Design and implement core people operations programs such as learning and development training, performance review, goal setting, 360 feedback, employee satisfaction, etc.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout people practices.
  • Investigate employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
  • Drive the strategy of the People function and build a positive work environment that aligns with the needs of the business.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in CA people practices laws and best practices for a startup tech company.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles and their application in team building and collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a love for spreadsheets and using data to drive decisions.
  • Minimum B.S. in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, including extensive experience meeting and presenting to senior executives.
  • 5+ years of people operations management experience, ideally in a fast-paced startup.
  • An ability to work from both of our offices as needed, with either Berkeley or Santa Clara being your regular office.
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics.
  • Proven experience in managing a diverse workforce and scaling the people operations function in a fast-growing company.
  • Ability to cope well with ambiguity and change in a dynamic environment.
