POSITION SUMMARY
The Culture and Development Lead is relentlessly positive, extremely engaged, and energized about creating excellent culture and employee experiences at Off the Grid. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building a team environment of empowerment, growth and accountability in alignment with our company mission and values. This position will champion employee experiences from start to finish through ownership of recruiting and onboarding, internal events, and ongoing development and training.
As the Culture and Development Lead, this position will work closely with the OTG Employee Experience team and OTG leadership supporting team communication, process implementation, and culture projects as needed. Charismatic and motivated, the ideal candidate believes in strengthening employee service through relationship building. You excel at collaboration, and are communicative, organized, and have excellent time-management skills.
This is a full-time position primarily based in San Francisco with moderate travel to our events as needed throughout the Bay Area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Culture Planning + Culture Alignment
- Own culture Onboarding and engagement sessions with new hires and internal teams.
- Drive culture outcomes through the culture committee and adjacent activities.
- Align internal processes and standards with excellent delivery of company values.
Staff Hiring + Onboarding
- Oversee the OTG Employee Onboarding Process in partnership with the Employee Experience Team.
- Manage Hiring processes that produce positive outcomes for skill assessment and culture alignment.
- Support and empower new hire success through delivery of orientations, accessible resources, and other Onboarding tools.
Development + Training Plans
- Develop ongoing training plans that produce measurable impact aligned with organizational goals.
- Support employee performance evaluations and structured development conversations.
- Own internal adoption of culture development initiatives and the actionable reporting of employee pulse data.
Internal Events
- Lead the coordination and execution of employee activities and work space perks, with the assistance of the Culture Committee, including annual company holiday parties and monthly/quarterly outings.
- Maintain quarterly activity budget, keep receipts and appropriate coding of expenses
Weekly All Hands Planning + Internal Communications
- Assist with Meeting and Presentation Decks, and coordinate presentation inclusion and logistics.
- Support internal resource creation and process documentation for staff use.
- Keep OTG Mission, Vision, Values, and Lexicon current and accessible to all staff.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Travel Required: Travel primarily within the San Francisco Bay Area.

- Management Experience: 1-2 Years
- Computer/Software Applications: Google suite (Gmail, Docs, gCal, Drive, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Suite, Canva, Slack, Rippling or HR management software.
- Excellent communicator with discretion
- Schedule Requirements: This is a full-time position that requires a Monday through Friday schedule with nights and weekends as necessary.
- Skills:
- Years of Related Professional Experience: 3-5 years
- Other: A connoisseur of experiences and a passion for food is a plus.
- Educational/Position Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent.

Work Environment:
The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities frequently occur inside and occasionally outside.
Physical Demands:
While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required include visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. In addition, the employee will be occasionally required to lift and/or move moderate (up to 20 pounds) and heavy (50 pounds or greater) weight.
