We have an amazing position Manager, People and Culture position available. Position Summary The Manager, People and Culture is a wiz human resources generalist who is ready to roll up their sleeves and take the next step in their career. The Manager, People and Culture is a collaborative member of the People and Culture team. Work in concert with the Chief People and Culture Officer (CP&CO) managing the day-to-day operations of the HR and Facilities Departments. As a member of the People and Culture team, you will focus on helping support a small team in a hybrid work environment (50+ team members), as we continue to grow and scale in all aspects of our business. This position will interact with managers, teams and HR external media partners, studio operations, and other affiliates of all levels, primarily in our located in L.A. and N.Y. You will proactively and reactively support and manage a variety of programs/activities, culture initiatives, and employee relations, and facilities/office management to drive a positive work environment. THE DAILES- YOUR IMPACT People Relations: First point of contact for members in day-to-day activities and fosters a positive work environment. Promote positive people relations by addressing questions, concerns, conflicts and provide consultation in a timely manner. Provides support and guidance to management when necessary. Work with CP&CO to develop and execute retention initiatives to enhance people engagement and job satisfaction. Engagement: Support the design, launch, and management of employee surveys that provide insight into areas of strength and areas of development for the company. Conduct exit interviews by analyzing data and information then develop plans to act on employee feedback. Use surveys, interviews, and other methods to make recommendations for company and culture improvements, as well as identify gaps and training needs Talent acquisition: Manage the talent acquisition process for entry to manager level positions; including job postings, resume screening, conducting interviews, making job offers, and onboarding. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Benefits/Compensation/Payroll: In collaboration with Chief People and Culture Officer manage compensation and benefits programs, including communicating salary structure, work with broker to manage open enrollment, resolve benefit issues, and develop incentives. Timecard management and administration. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards. Performance Management: Manage performance management systems, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and employee development plans. Provide guidance to managers on performance-related issues and facilitate performance improvement initiatives. Compliance and Policy Management: Stay up to date with employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Manage the Leave of Action (LOA) process and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and applicable federal, state, and local laws. Training and development: Coordinate people development initiatives, such as Shondaland Shares, DEIA programs, and anti-harassment trainings to promote a culture of continuous learning and conduct new hire orientation. HR reporting and HRIS Management: Manage HRIS and prepare HR reports. Enter new employees and employee changes into the HRIS system, offboarding, and other People and Finance platforms, ensuring data accuracy. Facilities Management: Work in concert with external facilities partners to manage and resolve facilities-related concerns; including maintenance issues, moving projects, parking badges, and visitor check-in system. The position has direct supervision of the Office PA/Receptionist. THE ESSENTIALS- QUALIFICATIONS Mid-level HR experience with progressively increased responsibilities. Basic knowledge of HR principles and practices gained through experience in a HR department/role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport with internal and external constituents and handle sensitive team member issues with confidentiality and professionalism. Demonstrating good balance of emotional intelligence. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to assess situations, proactively finding and presenting solutions involving critical thinking skills, and creative problem-solving skills, resulting in sound recommendations in a timely manner. Self-driven approach to working through tasks shown through ownership and execution of all assigned duties and responsibilities. Impeccable follow-through skills and welcomes a challenge. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Proficient in organizing and managing HR initiatives within established timelines. Knowledge of HR employment laws, labor regulations, and HR best practices. Familiar with local and national labor laws. Ability to analyze and administer various state laws. Ability to remain tactful and calm despite the situation Associate Arts degree or higher in Human Resources or related field is preferred. A minimum of 4-6 years' human resources experience required. PHR Certification or a SHRM-CP designation preferred. 1-2 years' experience managing office assistant and facilities. Experience in a media or entertainment start-up or related industry a plus. Experience with an HRIS platform, payroll software, and other HR-related technology tools.
