ROLE TITLE: Manager, Staff Engagement and Executive Support (Full Time)
POSITION REPORTS TO: VP, Equity & Belonging Integration and VP, Staff Engagement & Experience

What You’ll Do
This role provides executive-level support to the Chief of Equity and Belonging and supports staff engagement efforts. The role provides lift for the Chief of Equity and Belonging to ensure they focus on critical org-wide matters and meetings. It also is a role that executes special projects and supports logistics and coordination for key communication and staff engagement efforts to all staff.
You demonstrate extraordinary executive-level support and have an adaptable organizational system. You pay close attention to details and notice the small details that will help others be able to maximize their time and increase the efficacy of experiences, whether it is putting a description to a meeting or ensuring the right people are invited. Given the diversity of our team’s projects, you will bring both creativity and operations expertise to many different aspects of culture and communications work. You balance attention to technical detail with an adaptive approach to anticipating and solving problems. You are able to expand your focus to support the culture of the Office of Equity & Belonging (OEB) team and also staff events and engagement.

You center racial equity in your work of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness by building, deepening, and acting from an understanding of the central role of systemic racism and the devastating role of anti-Blackness as a core feature of systemic racism in America.
The goal is to provide exceptional executive-level support to the Chief of Equity and Belonging, support team engagements, and all staff engagement and communication alongside OEB teammates.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • LEAD: Co-lead the support and coordination of all key logistics of OEB team meetings and engagement to build culture and teaming, including deck prep, pre-work, and data analysis. (5%)
  • EVENTS: Manage and support operations for staff events and engagement, including communications, virtual gatherings, and in-person gatherings as needed. (30%)
  • COMMUNICATION & ENGAGEMENT: Plan, consult, and collaborate with OEB teammates and People Team on OEB engagements and communications (i.e., Commemorative Month celebrations) and staff engagement projects (20%)
  • TEAM CULTURE: Lead efforts to recognize and celebrate staff members and support key logistics and execution of OEB onboarding processes. (5%)
  • Other duties as assigned (i.e., Selection interviews) (5%)
  • EXECUTIVE SUPPORT: Provide executive-level logistical and administrative support through calendaring, coordinating critical communication and meetings, execution of special projects, and tracking and submitting expenses and activities for the Chief of Equity and Belonging and leadership team (if needed). (35%)
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
You will meet with the Chief of Equity and Belonging to review priorities for the week, month, and quarter and discuss upcoming meetings, including work that needs to be accomplished toward team and org-wide priorities. You will have a pulse on upcoming team meetings and all staff engagements, and help support the planning or implementation by getting meetings on the calendar, preparing the agenda, and/or preparing the deck for the meeting. You will also meet and coordinate with the VP of Equity and Belonging Integration and the VP of Staff Engagement and Experience to create belonging-centered communications and support staff engagement experiences.
Your Experience
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
  • Previous experience in cross-functional planning and implementation of philosophy, culture and systems
  • Previous experience managing complex schedules and prioritizing time
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in operations, project management, research or communications
  • Has experience with delivering messages through appropriate communication channels
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office; Fluency with Zoom, Social Media, etc.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated executive-level support (calendaring, meeting notes, expense, reimbursements, small projects, etc.)
  • Has strong operational systems and tools to manage time and maximize communication flow across the team and through staff communications
  • Has experience on staff events and engagements (i.e., deck prep, setting agendas, setting culture, etc.)
  • Has knowledge of racial equity, belonging, diversity, equity, inclusiveness, accessibility topics, and best practices for self and others

YOUR FUTURE TEAM
The Office of Equity and Belonging aims to enable TFA’s efforts to achieve the vision, mission, and 2030 goal by centering racial equity, belonging, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. As a capability center, OEB will use the integration of practice and accountability to students and communities to co-create the organizational conditions for all constituents to have lived experiences of equity and belonging and to operate in ways that contribute to others having lived experiences of equity and belonging.
The Manager, Staff Engagement, and Executive Support will sit on the Equity and Belonging Integration team, which will focus on system integration of REB/DEIA in experiences, policies, practices, and metrics and provide regular reporting on our work to inform current and future strategies. Additionally, the Manager, Staff Engagement and Executive Support will operate in a co-management structure with responsibilities for supporting the efforts of the VP of Staff Engagement and Experience to support staff communications and staff engagement.

The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $57,800 - $83,500
Tier B: $63,000 - $91,000
Tier C: $68,200 - $98,500
