Human Resources Assistant (Intern)

Catalent Pharma Solutions is hiring a Human Resources Assistant (Intern), on our San Diego, CA team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Human Resources intern to assist our HR department. The HR intern will work under the supervision of Human Resources leadership on special departmental projects related to employee professional development, talent management and retention. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering high-quality and timely HR assistance under minimal supervision, helping the HR department meet daily objectives.

**This is a PART TIME, PAID, YEAR-ROUND student internship all students are required to commit 15-20 hours per week - (Graduates will not be considered).

The Role (daily responsibilities)

• Research and prepare professional development activities for employees
• Participate and assist in career days, company social events and networking events
• All other duties as assigned.
• Assist in checking overall compliance with labor codes and applicable local and state laws
• Draft employee communications and correspondence about updates in HR policies
• Perform ad hoc tasks as required, including physical and digital filing of documents
• Research opportunities to increase diversity recruitment

The Candidate (requirements)

• Physical Requirements: On an average day this position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear, smell and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements including reading of written documents, visual inspection of materials and use of computer monitor screen frequently.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
• Highschool diploma/GED minimum education and must be enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level, preferred course of study to include Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, or related fields – must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Housing assistance is NOT available for this role. Relocation Assistance is NOT available for this position. ONLY local candidates will be considered.
• Availability to work 15-20 hours a week during the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday (no exceptions).
• Knowledge of U.S. Labor Laws preferred
• A team player with a positive attitude and able to take initiative. Superior attention to detail, organization, safety, quality, and customer requirements is critical. Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills in a professional work environment.

Pay:

The annual pay range for this position in California is $17/hour - $20/hour. Exact compensation may vary based on candidate qualifications.
