EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.
***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, or Atlanta, GA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates.***
Our client, a well-known insurance company, has ties with College Gameday and needs a passionate, self-starter to assist in bringing this best-in-class partnership to life each week. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in college football while getting a unique opportunity to lead on-site event management & activation, large-scale event planning, and more.
The right candidate will be able to work as part of a cohesive team and will need to engage with internal Octagon divisions, client partners & vendors, and consumers. This position requires strong team dynamic skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
***The College Football Tour project will run through January 15th, 2024. After that date, this position will shift to new Octagon Experiences projects***
The work you’ll do
- Plan and implement activations for weekly on-site activation elements, making travel arrangements, and coordinating on-site materials (shipping and tracking of promotional items, signage, collateral, etc.)
- Write event guidebooks, activation recaps, and other event-related documents
- Lead client and vendor/partner status calls, providing relevant updates and ensuring deadlines are met
- Collaboration across multiple departments including strategy, creative, and experiences
- Travel to broadcast locations regularly for the activation and supervision of client’s on-site programming - including non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends
- Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned
- Manage finance trackers, budgets, and program reconciliations
- Oversight and management of direct reports, while also supporting career development
- Oversee key programming elements from planning to implementation
- Build and cultivate relationships with clients, property, talent, and vendors

Who we’re looking for
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- 4-6 years of relevant sponsorship and/or agency experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
- Experience in event execution with a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to tackle problems optimally and independently
- Willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays with extensive travel obligations to manage teams on-site (50% travel in season – September to November)
- Superior organization, interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Detail-oriented; ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and produce quality work within strict timelines
The base range for this position is $60,000 – 70,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background pertinent experience, and qualifications.
