Prestige Beverage Group is seeking a motivated, result oriented and strategic Sales Professional to join our Commercial Sales Organization as a Field Sales Manager covering the state of California. This position is based in California will lead the sales, portfolio, and distributor management across the Prestige Beverage Group portfolio of Wine, Spirit & Malt beverages specific to the California. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the adult beverage category with high levels of communication skills, ability to drive success in the market and deliver superior sales results through management skills. Overnight travel and daytrips for this position are expected for at least 25% of one's time.
:
Sales and Commercial Execution
  • Market lead to support joint business planning process and align with local Commercial plans.
  • Support West Coast Team as it relates to California General Market & Chain activities/initiatives within the assigned markets.
  • Lead in-store selling, merchandising, marketing, and execution for accounts.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to understand brand activities and standards.
  • Provide insight and recommendations for brand placement or brand development through fact-based selling.
  • Develop and execute local programming to ensure brand execution in the market associated with KPIs– including proper distribution of PBG brands, display/merchandising programs, shelf management positions, retail features, and promotions.
  • Directly manage solutions to grow their assigned accounts business, while driving results that deliver market share growth for PBG brands.
  • Collaborate with members of the West Coast team and the Marketing/Creative team to create relevant and effective programs that support retail activation.
  • Identify business opportunities, analyze relevant data, think critically, generate alternatives, and select appropriate solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned accounts and operate within their systems
  • Represents PBG at key relevant trade events within markets.
  • Serve as the communication lead between key customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Build brands by utilizing consumer and category trends to educate customers and distributors, solve problems and maximize sales.
  • Manage the day-to-day program-specific activities and projects for California General Market and Chain accounts.
  • Understand all local pricing, profit, ROI, and brand economics across the portfolio.
  • Develop sales collateral to conduct effective customer presentations.
Distributor Relationship Management
  • Implement and maintain consistent brand/portfolio training with Distributors to promote PBG Brands. This can include:
    • Regularly scheduled presentations to distributors.
    • Regularly scheduled work-withs with sales reps/mgr.
  • Manage quarterly projects assigned by Manager.
  • Regularly scheduled presentations to distributors.
  • Spends a significant portion of his/her time with Distributors.
  • Enhances and maintains strong relationships with Distributor General Market & Chain Teams, from Sales Reps through Managers.
  • Regularly scheduled work-withs with sales reps/mgr.
Analysis & Administration
  • Stays within all assigned budgets (T&E, Marketing, Pricing)
  • Utilizes tools to analyze and understand the business (VIP, IRI, Power BI, Anaplan).
  • Tracks, monitors, and programs POS materials.
  • Completes monthly market reports and calendars in a timely fashion; completes monthly expense reports.
Position Requirements
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Bachelor’s Degree-Required
  • Knowledge of Distributor Management
  • Well organized with ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Intermediate wine and spirit knowledge
  • 5 or more years of supplier and/or distributor experience within the beverage alcohol industry
  • Result driven with strong problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals and objectives
  • Excellent follow up and timeliness
