Elearning Instructional Designer - Remote | Wfh

We are currently seeking a motivated, collaborative, and imaginative professional to join our team in the role of an Instructional Designer. This opportunity involves becoming a crucial part of a cross-cultural, fully remote integrated team, working alongside fellow Instructional Designers, a DoD client, Foreign Language Subject Matter Experts, military cultural and policy specialists, and other development team members. Together, we aim to design an advanced foreign language course within an engaging eLearning environment, featuring level 2-3 interactivity aligned with Army Distributed Learning standards.
Role Summary
Your main responsibility will be ensuring the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced. You will be applying adult learning theory principles and creative strategies to design courseware that promotes advanced foreign language learning while collaborating closely with and fellow team members to create captivating storyboards and purposeful learning activities. Your expertise will also be called upon to design complex level branching and intrinsic feedback loops, incorporating eLearning best practices to drive learner engagement and knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
Uphold instructional integrity and educational effectiveness in training materials.
Apply adult learning theory principles and learner-centric strategies.
Collaborate with SMEs and team members to develop engaging storyboards.
Design complex branching and feedback mechanisms.
Implement proven eLearning practices such as simulations and scenario-based checks.
Collaborate within a diverse, remote, multi-cultural team.
Utilize efficient planning and time management skills.
Seamlessly communicate using technology-based workflow resources.
Requirements
Previous experience in eLearning design/development (IMI Level 2-3).
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related field.
Expertise in Instructional Systems Design or Instructional Design Technology.
Familiarity with foreign language learning methodology.
Minimum of 5 years in Instructional Design.
Proficiency in the ADDIE design and evaluation system.
Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complex ideas.
Excellent written and oral communication in a diverse environment.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
Attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
Professional interaction with senior-level personnel and clients.
Submission of level 3 storyboards or a design portfolio.
U.S. citizenship and eligibility for government security clearance.
Preferred Experience
Designing interactive instructional content for Distributed Learning.
Proven self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
Government contracting familiarity.
Working knowledge of one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese Mandarin, French, Korean, Russian, or Spanish.
Proficiency in Adobe Captivate.
Familiarity with eLearning courseware delivery platforms.
