Job Summary
As an Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of service at the Front Desk while achieving profit targets. Your effective communication skills, both written and verbal, will guide and motivate your team to excel. You will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising Front Desk Team members, ensuring our commitment to quality is upheld. Additionally, you will engage positively with guests, resolving issues to their satisfaction, and contribute to a customer-centric atmosphere throughout the Front Desk.
Key Responsibilities
Be the final authority in addressing individual guest issues and strive to achieve satisfactory outcomes for guests and the hotel, updating guest history accordingly.
Monitor room availability and reservations to maximize revenue and prevent overbooking.
Ensure smooth Front Desk operations by supporting and leading Front Desk agents.
Assist the Front Desk Supervisor and Front Office Manager in overseeing Front Office employees' daily tasks.
Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with guests, co-workers, and subordinates.
Facilitate departmental meetings, pre-con meetings for groups, management trainee meetings, and hotel management meetings as required.
Authorize weekly payroll and review expected arrivals, VIP reservations, and special requests.
Maintain safety practices for employees and guests, following proper emergency and safety procedures.
Assist the accounting department in resolving billing issues and guest folios.
Develop strong working relationships with other department managers and directors to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Conduct interviews, perform reference checks, and organize on-the-job training for new Front Desk and Night Audit employees.
Participate in training classes set up by the Lodge at Vail, Rock Resort, and Vail Resort.
Encourage associates to provide excellent customer service and emphasize guest satisfaction.
Oversee Payroll, Scheduling, Hiring, and Performance Reviews.
Compensation
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $52,000 - $59,660. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
