Vice President, Human Resources - Greater Chicago Area

Position Overview


Our client is seeking a Vice President, Human Resources to join their corporate headquarters in Chicago. This is the top HR leadership position and in this highly visible role, the Vice President, Human Resources is a member of the senior leadership team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.


The Vice President, Human Resources will have responsibility for all aspects of the Human Resources function and will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical human resources leadership across the organization. The Vice President, Human Resources will ensure the company attracts, develops, and retains high-quality talent at all levels and has the talent management processes, programs, and initiatives in place to support business strategies and growth objectives.


Responsibilities


• Lead a team of 15 HR professionals.

• Provide consultative support to the CEO and Senior Leadership Team.

• Set the Human Resources strategy in alignment with business goals.

• Drive culture change and support initiatives for sustainable growth.

• Streamline processes and improve productivity in the HR departments.

• Oversee HR policies, benefits administration, and compensation processes.

• Ensure compliance with legal requirements in the US and Mexico.

• Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.

• Develop and administer learning and development programs.

• Plan and oversee compliance training programs.


Qualifications


• 20+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or distribution company.

• Strong business acumen and understanding of international operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Psychology, or related field (master’s preferred)

• Collaborative and influential leadership style.

• Ability to manage complex and sensitive situations.

• Commitment to integrity and ethical behavior.

• Experience driving culture change and measuring impact.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems.

• Knowledge of US and Mexican labor laws (preferred).

• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
