Head Of Cell Therapeutics Research

Shanghai Cell Therapy Group was founded in 2013, and has formed an integrated ecosystem of antibody, mRNA, Cell Therapy (CAR-T), Cell Banking, and Cancer Hospital. We devote ourselves to the discovery and development of world-class technology and affordable cell therapeutics. This position is located at Shanghai, China.

As the Head of Cell Therapeutics Research, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the research and development efforts related to cell-based therapies within the organization. Your primary focus will be on developing innovative and cutting-edge cell therapeutic products and technologies, with the ultimate goal of advancing medical treatments and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Intellectual Property and Patent Strategy: Identify novel discoveries and inventions generated by the research team, and work with legal and business development teams to protect intellectual property through patents and licensing agreements.
• Lead the improvement of CAR-T functions, including but not limited to the research of CAR-T iterative innovation; experiment and explore the establishment of a platform for CAR-T innovative products to be applied to early CAR-T product design;
• Lead the functional verification of CAR-T, including but not limited to the preparation of CAR-T, the assessment of CAR-T in vitro activity including serial proliferation and tumor killing, and the selection of car-t lead;
• Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing team of scientists and associates. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Budget and Resource Management: Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and prioritize projects based on their potential impact and feasibility.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cell therapeutics and related technologies, evaluating their potential applications in the organization's research efforts.
• Research Planning and Execution: Lead the design and execution of research projects focused on the development and optimization of CAR-T cell-based therapies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of CAR-T early research and development experience; team management experience, familiar with various forms of CAR-T molecular design and in vivo and in vitro functional verification. Proven track record of successful research and development in the field of cell therapeutics, demonstrated through publications, patents, or contributions to the discovery and development of products.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive research advancements and partnerships.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines relevant to cell-based therapies and biologics.
• Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology) with a strong focus on cell-based therapies.
• Possess team management ability, have strong scientific curiosity, innovative scientific thinking and solid professional knowledge, and be able to deal with high-complexity problems.
