- Serves on various community committees as assigned.
- Prepares and monitors the budget for Community Resources programs, employee recognition, and retirement recognition.
- Coordinates and manages special projects as assigned.
- Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the department as assigned or required.
- Attends weekly Commissioners Court meetings to photograph proclamation and resolution recipients.
- Maintains volunteer records and prepares statistical reports on the extent, nature, and value of volunteer services.
- Coordinates annual Employee Appreciation Day.
- Performs supervisory duties.
- Coordinates annual Employee Picnic.
- Formulates policies and procedures for volunteers.
- Collects and deposits funds for Food Drives, United Way, Annual Picnic as well as others.
- Occasionally attends events/programs outside regular work hours.
- Coordinates employee participation in County/community programs including the Fort Worth ISD Adopt-A-School, Angel Tree, Blood Drives, as well as others.
- Screens, interviews, and refers volunteer applicants to the appropriate departments. Coordinates background check of all volunteers placed with Tarrant County.
- Coordinates monthly employee recognition and distribution of retirement watches and certificates.
- Arranges appropriate recognition of volunteers for their service.
- Manages Countywide recurring charitable drives (quarterly/annually) such as the United Way, National Adoption Day, Food Drive, etc.
TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher + Three (3) full-time years of related work experience.
OR
TO APPLY, must have an Associate's degree + Five (5) full-time years of related work experience.
OR
TO APPLY, must have a High School diploma or GED + Seven (7) full-time years of related work experience.
TO APPLY, must own and operate a vehicle in order to carry out certain duties and must possess a valid driver license. Note: A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.
Cash handling and reconciliation experience is critical.
Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office applications. Must demonstrate proficiency with spreadsheet use.
An ability to interact effectively with a wide range of individuals including elected officials, retired professionals, mandatory community service volunteers, and the community at large.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of County personnel.
If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
Tarrant County will conduct background checks on new hires that will include a criminal background check related to convictions and deferred adjudications in the past seven years and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment records and educational attainment. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic bar to employment. Each case is considered individually.
While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit frequently, work on the computer, and walk or drive to and from different buildings and departments throughout the County. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, type, stand, stoop, lift, push, pull, carry and bend.
