Job Description
Overview:
The Distribution Center Human Resources Manager develops, executes and manages human resource initiatives and responsibilities within our Distribution Centers. This person leads employee relations, performance management, talent development, total rewards, legal compliance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Distribution Human Resources Manager partners closely with Distribution Center Senior Leadership to set strategies and priorities that ensure a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitors attendance performance, turnover, trends, and policy violations and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Ensures legal compliance with various governmental laws and regulations regarding employment
  • Reviews resumes and interviews candidates, as needed, for final hiring decisions
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Develops the program and process to identify, document and communicate performance successes and issues consistently
  • Employee Relations
    • Oversees and manages investigations of escalated employee and management issues, complaints, and situations
    • Prevents and resolves employee relations issues, working with the HR director and the Distribution Centers Directors, to conduct internal investigations, resolve escalated conflicts including harassment, discrimination, and general conduct as necessary
    • Examines the source of problems and conflict between employees and provides recommendations and coaching to leadership

  • Supports a culture of diversity and inclusion by leading all DE&I initiatives and creates new initiatives to build a stronger sense of belonging in the Distribution Centers
  • Prevents and resolves employee relations issues, working with the HR director and the Distribution Centers Directors, to conduct internal investigations, resolve escalated conflicts including harassment, discrimination, and general conduct as necessary

    • Provides oversight and leadership to the Distribution Center Human Resources team

    • Manages contract labor by building partnerships between The Container Store and temporary staffing agencies, negotiating rates, terms and contracts and ensuring they meet the ongoing staffing demands

Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • 5+ years’ experience in a human resources role
  • Strong presentation ability
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area
  • Experience managing others including career development, directing and evaluating work
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Experience in a Distribution Center environment preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20% a year, based on the business needs
  • College degree preferred
