Job Description
The Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in Los Angeles, California in 2028, returning to the United States for the first time in over 30 years. 2028 will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, creating an opportunity to expand awareness, understanding and inclusion of people with disabilities.
LA28, the organizers for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, is on a mission to create an unparalleled Games experience for athletes, fans, partners, our community and our people. The 2028 Olympics and Paralympics will represent LA and leverage the strength of our community’s diversity and creativity as we collectively work to design a Games that we all want to be a part of. We do this by focusing on people and by inviting everyone into the story of the LA28 Games.

Associate, People Management:
The LA28 People Management (PEM) team is looking for a candidate that is organized, a quick learner, and has an interest in growing within the HR practice. In this role, you'll get hands-on experience in all aspects of HR, functioning as a true HR generalist. You'll have the chance to work on diverse tasks, from employee engagement programming to managing HRIS systems and providing crucial administrative support for training.
As a PEM Associate, you'll be at the forefront of driving our inclusion practices, making a significant impact across the organization. You'll collaborate closely with our team to create an inclusive and vibrant workplace for all.
This is a role that offers plenty of opportunities to broaden your HR knowledge and skills, while also providing crucial support for day-to-day HR activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with creating internal communication plans and trainings
  • Maintain and update organization charts as needed.
  • Other duties include ad-hoc research and special projects as needed.
  • Serve as change agent in support of PEM initiatives and department strategies
  • Execute employee recognition programming
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding process
  • Organize event logistics for employee engagement, DEIB initiatives, and professional development
  • Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience and partner with the PEM team to develop and implement innovative and lasting solutions
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits
  • Lead new hire orientation
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to employees and managers
  • Maintain day-to-day administration within the Workday system
  • Leverage HR policies, programs, and practices to create and maintain a positive, high performing work environment
Background & Qualifications:
  • 2- years of HR experience preferred,
  • Ability to facilitate HR and People related work through a DEIB lens
  • Experience with HR metrics and data storytelling
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools, DocuSign and/or other data visualization tools (power point, google slides, etc.)
  • Desire to bring fresh ideas around building culture and inclusion
  • Proven capability of working with department partners to implement and audit HR programs, initiatives, systems, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion around sensitive topics
  • Proficient in Workday
  • Demonstrated commitment to DEIB
Preferred:
  • Previous experience with Greenhouse
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar project management system

LA28 / USOPP does not provide relocation assistance.
The annual base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
