Job Description
The Manager, People Experience will be responsible for the oversight of all recruitment and hiring efforts. They will work closely with the rest of the People & Culture team, as well as with hiring managers to recruit, interview, hire and onboard new employees. The Manager, People Experience will lead employee engagement initiatives, as well as develop and drive projects to improve the day-to-day life of DAOU & PATRIMONY employees. The person in this role should be patient, compassionate, and have a passion for making DAOU a fun, inclusive, and fulfilling place to work.
Core Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Develop job ads and job descriptions as needed, ensuring all employees have a signed job description on file.
  • Conduct resume and candidate screening as well as reference checks.
  • Manage the full recruiting life cycle across a variety of open roles.
  • Train and support hiring managers, executives, and panel members on the use of our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Workable.
  • Host and coordinate panel interviews for positions of all levels.
  • Maintain job boards; internally and externally.
  • Maintain database of candidate records, including active and passive prospects and other candidate relationships via our ATS.
  • Create and release offer letters to new hire prospects.
  • Work closely with management to gain comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring needs for each position and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations.
  • Use diplomacy and compassion while notifying candidates who will not be moving forward in the interview process.
Employee Orientation, Onboarding & Engagement
  • Co-manage the DAOU Onboarding Week Experience 3-4 times per year.
  • Conduct new hire orientations for each new employee.
  • Mange employee onboarding from offer through orientation.
  • Assist with department audits.
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Oversee and develop all employee engagement and appreciation initiatives, including years of service anniversaries, holiday surprises and special events, etc.
  • Provide on-the-ground HR support at DAOU Mountain, DAOU SLO, and additional Paso Robles DAOU locations as scheduled with the P&C Team.
  • Work with P&C Team to ensure compliance with labor regulations.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvements to HR programs and processes to drive efficiencies and enhance the People experience
Requirements
  • High level of business acumen; you understand the business on a deep level and the interdependencies of various teams and processes.
  • Knowledge of federal & state labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to navigate confidential information with professional maturity.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong operational thinker with a knack for solving problems and building solutions.
  • A team player with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • The ability to leverage data to help drive informed decision making.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with global or remote teams.
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in HR or People Operations in fast growing organizations.
  • The ability to drive projects from inception to implementation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) required. Experience with Workable, Paylocity, and/or HiBob a plus.

Working Conditions
  • Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule with some on-site days, and some home office days.
  • May require some occasional travel.
  • Sitting for long periods of time (8 hours per day).

  • Regular working schedule: Monday – Friday, general business hours. Will include occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • May experience long and irregular hours during peak seasons and special events.
Compensation Range
  • $70,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience
