Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
University Human Resources (UHR) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to serve as the inaugural Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition. The incumbent in this new role will have the opportunity to build the infrastructure of the talent acquisition team to attract and retain talent. In partnership with campus unit leaders and UHR leaders, the Assistant Director is responsible for providing leadership, creating talent acquisition strategies, and executing talent acquisition initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a track record of achievement in designing and implementing talent acquisition initiatives, have a passion for attracting and retaining talent, and will be highly collaborative and results oriented.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Experience:
  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in human resources. Two (2) years of experience supervising teams.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic and operational plans within talent acquisition.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated experience with talent acquisition from inception to fruition.
  • Demonstrated success facilitating working sessions, including demonstrated experience facilitating sessions with senior level executives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work with data and analytics, and demonstrated capability formulating and implementing effective and creative talent acquisition strategies.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize risks and issues and evaluate competing needs.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and work effectively under pressure with multiple deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate problem solving and approach client issues from a solution-oriented stance.
  • Proven people leadership skills and capability in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with leaders and practitioners at all levels.

  • Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience in a large, complex and decentralized organization
  • Experience leading process, program, or policy design and implementation.
  • SHRM-CP, HRCI-PHR, or other relevant certification.
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with Workday HCM talent modules.

This is an in-office position that adheres to a standard work schedule. The majority of time is spent sitting at a desk at a computer workstation, and moving around the office to assist customers. Limited travel around the campus, and off-campus, may be necessary.
