Account Executive, Corporate Media

Ruder Finn is seeking a talented Account Executive to provide support across our corporate media accounts. This individual will have strong writing skills and media relations experience with the ability to help manage external communications campaigns and executive thought leadership programs for clients primarily in the pharmaceutical sector. As an Account Executive, you will be a core part of a diverse, creative team, utilizing your experience in media research, writing, presentations and project coordination to impact the client’s goals. This position will allow for growth as well as the opportunity to submerge your creativity into key campaigns and storytelling to raise the visibility and corporate reputation for clients with a global presence in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily interaction with clients and prospects, work collaboratively with team members to achieve client objectives, help develop strategic recommendations, anticipate challenges and ensure deadline and budget are met
• Write, edit, and proofread high-quality content including press releases, social media and blog posts, pitch letters, fact sheets, speeches, presentations, and client correspondence
• Conduct media relations efforts, including thorough media monitoring, proactively flagging relevant trends and articles, developing media lists, pulling analysis reports using tools such as Cision, Trendkite, Google Alerts, etc., and conducting proactive media outreach
• Develop solid understanding of client business and their competitive environments, including business strategy, products and services, key customers and competitors

Qualifications

• Ability to work as a member of a team and take ownership of tasks
• A minimum of 1+ years of experience in Communications or Public Relations
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Media relations experience with a broad understanding of the media landscape and what types of stories drive coverage
• Strong writing, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines
