The Office of the CTO is critically responsible to strategically guide, oversee the development of, and align technology to business needs while working with customers, partners, and key external forums to increase Studio business success in support of our Framing Memo principles.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This senior role will report directly to the Corporate CTO as a member of the CTO Office team and will be responsible for next generation software defined vehicle, cloud robotics, edge embedded systems and AI/ML applications. This individual will drive adoption across the various product and solution areas of the company’s business and associated development teams.
To be considered for this exciting role, candidates should have demonstrated experience with delivering advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning architectures and products, possess expertise in embedded edge systems and technologies and next generation automotive architecture including in vehicle software design. The ideal candidate will have a history of senior technology leadership, demonstrated the ability to work across functional teams and have a history of external public speaking in technology forums. This role will lead a small team of advanced technologists in next generation technology development.
This role will lead the transformation of our customers’ existing solutions by extending them into the next generation software design architecture as well as building new ones in greenfield deployments. This role and its impact are envisioned as a significant growth enabler for our company as it rapidly expands its reach into these areas. This position will have extensive visibility within the company not only into our engineering, sales and business development departments, but also with our executive management team. This role will be expected to have an equivalent presence in the external thought leadership domain as well as with customers across those levels.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy and Vision: Develop and drive the overall technology strategy and vision in alignment with the company's business objectives. Identify emerging trends, evaluate new technologies, and make strategic recommendations to leverage innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Product Roadmap and Innovation: Collaborate with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize the product roadmap. Lead the ideation, research, and development of new solutions and features that align with customer needs and market trends.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enable team members to reach their full potential.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, and marketing, to ensure effective collaboration, communication, and alignment of technology initiatives. Foster strong partnerships to drive product excellence and customer satisfaction.
Technology Evangelism: Act as a thought leader and spokesperson, representing the company's technological capabilities, vision, and thought leadership at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements. Drive awareness and promote the company as a trusted technology partner.
Technology Standards and Best Practices: Establish and promote technology standards, best practices, and processes across the organization. Ensure adherence to quality standards, compliance requirements, and industry regulations.
Industry Engagement: Maintain a pulse on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape. Engage with key industry stakeholders, standards bodies, and strategic partners to drive collaboration, influence industry direction, and position the company as a technology leader.
Trusted Advisor: For our customers and partners both at an engineering level, but also interfacing with executive leadership. Effectively communicate with both visual and verbal real-time presentations well as packaged written specifications and documents both internally and externally. Support CTO office M&A due diligence activities within the realm of this role’s expertise.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications & Experience
- Strategic mindset with a demonstrated ability to translate business needs into actionable technology plans.
- Background in safety certified systems (ISO-26262 DO-178C) a plus
- 10-15 years demonstrated participation in the broader open-source community. Creation and leadership in these organizations is a plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in technology leadership roles, driving innovation, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- The ability to clearly demonstrate both internal and external thought-leadership experience (i.e.: publicly available videos, blogs, podcasts, presentations, etc.…)
- Strong business acumen and customer-centric mindset.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing technology strategies, driving product innovation, and delivering market-leading solutions.
- Demonstrated experience delivering advanced AI and ML architectures and products.
- Deep understanding and expertise in embedded systems, IoT, or related technologies.
