TrueLearn is seeking a Vice President of Technology to lead all of the company’s onshore and offshore Development, QA, and DevOps teams, Corporate IT, Security Compliance, and Data. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Technology will be responsible for delivering the product roadmap and establishing a technical vision for the Company, as well as coaching and mentoring the engineering and product teams on best practices. The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading and delivering high-quality commercial software, integrating acquired businesses, and promoting cloud-based technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team to help shape strategy and business plans, and ensure all functional areas are in alignment.
- Develop, lead and scale a world-class engineering team with a focus on team dynamics and mentorship across all levels, including mid-level management.
- Anticipate and react to technology and market trends to ensure continued leadership in a competitive environment and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Build and maintain a culture that is data-driven, seeks continuous improvement and takes pride in exceeding expectations.
- Demonstrate executive level thought leadership, technical innovation and financial and operational execution of software development processes.
- Manage the software development and release cycles of all lines of businesses to maintain the appropriate balance of innovative velocity, quality assurance, and cost control.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team.
- Manage existing technology programs, products and services for all lines of business.
- Participate in the diligence and tech/people/product integration of any acquisitions.
- Collaborate and partner with Product Management to build organizational alignment between the engineering and product teams to drive effective and strategic execution against the product roadmap.
- Participate in the diligence and technology, people and product integration of any acquisitions.
Qualifications
- Experience in leading and mentoring a high-performing software development organization.
- 5+ years of responsibility for software development teams at scale.
- Familiarity with multiple development methodologies; understand existing and emerging cloud technologies.
- Experience with M&A diligence and integration preferred.
- Experience designing and implementing technical architecture standards and integrations best practices.
- Full stack web application experience including architecture, design, and development.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another applicable field.
- Highly process and metrics driven with hands-on experience in complex project management.
- 10+ years of software development experience and technology management in a B2B SaaS environment. Healthcare IT experience a plus.
- Proven ability to scale an engineering organization 3-5x.
