Student Club & Events Coordinator

Hydropower Foundation has a part-time opening for a contract Student Club & Event Coordinator position to collaborate with our Program Director on various tasks. This position is remote. However, it is advantageous if the candidate lives within the Denver, CO, area.

Who We Are

Founded in 1994, the Hydropower Foundation is dedicated to ensuring hydropower’s sustainable contribution to a clean energy future. The organization is a 501c3 not-for-profit committed to supporting the Nation’s first and most flexible renewable resource, hydropower, through research and development of hydropower as a clean and beneficial renewable resource. Funded by contracts, grants, events, industry sponsorships, and memberships, the Foundation is comprised of professionals with broad backgrounds within the hydropower industry and the stakeholder community.

Mission

Developing a waterpower workforce through programs that provide future workers with knowledge and opportunities in the industry through focused education, research, and experience.

In addition, the Foundation actively engages and serves the clean energy industry by supporting work in education, research, and workforce development.

Vision

A waterpower workforce that is robust, welcoming, educated, environmentally focused, and reflects the regional communities’ diversity. Many of the Foundation’s projects and programs include the participation of post-secondary educators and student researchers. The Foundation strives to maintain strong connections with academia at the university, community college, and trades level in various disciplines. We seek to aid them in achieving their teaching and research objectives while serving the goals of the Foundation.

Our team is small but mighty and passionate about renewable energy! Like many others, the hydropower industryis experiencing a decline in qualified workers due to an aging workforce and a lack of knowledge transfer. This leaves an abundant career opportunity for students pursuing any STEM degree and/or trades, such as welding, machining, operations, and mechanics, just to name a few. We serve the hydropower community by producing events and programming focused on connecting post-secondary students and the hydropower industry to engage the next-generation hydropower workforce.
