New Teacher Center (NTC) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to disrupting the predictability of educational inequities for BIPOC students, multilingual learners, students experiencing poverty, and immigrant students by accelerating educator effectiveness. Since our founding in 1998, NTC rigorously works with educators and facilitators at all levels of a system to center students’ needs to transform professional learning and equip educators with the tools to disrupt inequitable education practices. In 2021-22, NTC developed instructional leadership in 6,775 schools to reach 217,000 teachers and impact the learning of 3.8M students in over 650 districts across 29 states. Your Impact:
The Senior Manager of Federal Grants plays a key role in ensuring high-quality reporting, innovative cross-collaboration and information sharing, and excellent operations.
What Will You Do:
The Senior Manager of Federal Grants reports to the Senior Director of Federal Grants. This position works cross-functionally, may oversee consultants as applicable, and does not include direct management of FTEs.
Drive Strategic and High-Quality Reporting
- Provide insight on and support writing future applications and strategies for Federal Grant work.
- Develop and implement project tracking systems to ensure the timely implementation of grant-funded projects.
- Gather and analyze data at multiple levels (student-level data, teacher practice, mentor/coach practice, school culture, leadership practice) to assess and improve program quality.
- Lead the writing and development of all federal grant reports for the Education Department, including Annual Performance Reports, Final Performance Reports, and monthly updates.
- Develop processes and practices to perform programmatic and grant effectiveness performance assessments.
Lead Innovative Cross-Collaboration and Information Sharing Practices
- Lead the development of a learning cycle that takes learnings from Federal Grants and feeds them into NTC’s Fee For Service, philanthropic and innovation work.
- Support the partnerships & development team with information sharing, funder requests, and reporting needs.
- Lead the planning for dissemination externally, including coordinating with marketing & comms, white paper development, and conferences.
- Coordinate with leads to develop agendas and excellent facilitation for cross-site collaboration.
- Develop systems and structures to gather information and communicate internally on key grant activities, data, and opportunities for learning and growth.
- Make connections across Grant work to ensure efficient service delivery and progress toward outcomes.
- Provide information and make presentations to various stakeholders about best practices related to high-quality coaching, instructional leadership, and building strong instructional cultures.
- Ensure a continuous improvement approach to implementing cross-site collaboration internally and externally.
Provide Leadership to Support Excellent Operations
- Effectively liaise between Program Solutions and Program Delivery teams, ensuring effective communication around shared team goals.
- Support building and sustaining partnerships with a variety of education stakeholders across NTC’s portfolio.
- Provide leadership to the Operations Specialist to ensure operational needs are being met, including sites having the support they need for implementation.
- Support annual renewal contract conversations with current clients.
What You Bring:
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Committed and able to lead Program staff and teams in meeting NTC's mission to disrupt the predictability of educational inequities for systemically underserved students, from preschool through high school, by accelerating educator effectiveness.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), project management, and interpersonal skills.
- 7+ years of related experience required.
- Demonstrated commitment to NTC’s values: lead with equity, act with courage, empower students and communities, foster belonging, and stay curious.
- Comfort handling multiple projects simultaneously, navigating complex situations, working independently and cross-functionally, and working with rapidly shifting priorities/targets.

Must Be Willing To:

- Minimum travel (15-20%) - To include: semi-annual department retreats, org-wide annual retreat, leadership retreats, board meetings, internal learning convenings, and at least one conference.
