Stay updated on evolving grant regulations, accounting standards, and best practices within the higher education sector

At least three (3+) years management experience

Reviews subaward packages and provides on-going guidance to country office staff on subaward management, including pre-award assessments, monitoring, and closeout.

A demonstrated track record of successfully working with civil society organizations in a role administering or supporting the management of grants.

Project Support: Prime Award and Subaward Management

Provides guidance to portfolio team, including in-country staff, regarding agreement and funder requirements throughout life of award.

Facilitates resolution of agreement-related issues and requirements with funder or sub-partner throughout life of award.

Develop project management plan for review by the PI or senior level grants administrator.

Establish and implement project management plans for complex projects.

Prepare budget projects and analysis to assist PI in financial grant management

Ensure proper recording of revenue associated with all studies; apply revenue management standards.

Ability to learn changing technologies related to grants and contracts management.

Understand and apply basic concepts of Export controls as these relate to proposal submission and award management

Strong prioritization and time-management skills to balance ongoing responsibilities with urgent requests.

Minimum 8 years’ experience in grants management, grant writing, policy analysis or related experience.

Experience in a management consulting role.

Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, public policy, or public administration (or equivalent work experience).

Expert knowledge of grants process, regulations, and policies.

Experience and expertise in writing complex technical components of legislation, regulations, or other policy.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 7 to 8 years of experience in accounting, audit, donor, and sub-grantee management

Manage large projects that span across multiple disciplines and faculty which may involve developing a project management plan with the PI.

Job Title: Grants and Contracts Manager, Remote

Flexible and agile with changing landscapes and technologies in grants and contracts management.

Advise the PI on administrative requirements in preparing proposal submissions.

Manage budget, reporting and compliance timelines through the lifecycle of the grant or contract; communicate new WBSEs to appropriate department personnel.

Ability to apply knowledge to the day-to-day operations of the team and staff training activities. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearance

Analyzes and reviews research proposals processed through the team for conformity with University policies and compliance with requirements of prospective sponsors.

Master's Degree, plus three years of relevant professional experience are preferred.

Monitors workload of the overall team and of individual team members; reassigns workload to accomplish equitable distribution among team members.

Assists the Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts in managing daily operations.

Monitors all other assignments, output and timely completion of assigned tasks of all team members.

Fiscal Compliance and Risk Management – 20%

Manages, prepares, and submits grant renewals within prescribed deadlines.

Prepares complex budgets, other support, publications, and other reports.

Manage financial accounting and reporting for designated entities. Serve as a primary business partner to financial planning.

Manage day to day operations including journal entries, account reconciliations, business case input, and other accounting activities.

· Manages vendor relationships, contacts, and pre-qualifications lists.

Collect required data in preparation of grant applications, renewals and grant reports.

Prepare budgets specific to sponsor guidelines.

Ensure proper set up and oversight of internally funded grants.

Experience working with financial and grants management systems.

Up to one year of management or leadership experience preferred. At least two years working in a grant-making organization.

Eight years' Experience in federal grant preparation & submission, and federal acquisition contract negotiation.

Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Public Administration, or related field from college or university.

Master's Degree MBA, MSA, MPH or J.D.

Provide training to relevant business units on contracts processes to ensure approvals and contract requirements are met.

Coordinate with other departments (Finance, Procurement) to improve contract processes, suggest and implement new / more efficient processes as needed.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts in the healthcare industry.

Hands-on experience independently drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide variety and volume of contracts.

High level of responsiveness and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; excellent customer service.

Experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department strongly preferred.
