Job Description
Agile Six is a people-first, remote-work company that serves shoulder-to-shoulder with federal agencies to find innovative, human-centered solutions. We build better by putting people first. We are animated by our core values of Purpose, Wholeness, Trust, Self-Management and Inclusion. We deliver our solutions in autonomous teams of self-managed professionals (no managers here!) who genuinely care about each other and the work. We know that’s our company’s purpose – and that we can only achieve it by supporting a culture where talented people feel valued, self-managed, and love to come to work.
The Role
Agile Six is looking for a dynamic Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist to join our self-managed, fully remote team. We are seeking someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to assist primarily with recruiting and onboarding while also supporting the overall employee experience and people operations of the organization. Our ideal candidate understands full life cycle recruiting for technology companies, but is eager to do things differently in order to create better outcomes for our teams, and ultimately, the people who use government services. We are looking for a teammate who is empathetic, equity-focused, and mission/values driven to attract and retain like-minded individuals. While the primary focus of this role will be tactical (recruiting and onboarding), we’re looking for someone who can nurture trust-based relationships, focus on team outcomes, and thrive as part of a cross-functional team committed to putting people first.
Our ideal candidate is passionate about creating excellent experiences for candidates, colleagues, and partners, and working in an environment that emphasizes trust, wholeness, and autonomy. We are committed to a transparent and equitable hiring strategy that will foster an ecosystem of diverse perspectives and backgrounds. We are looking for someone ready to jump in and advance our mission and values through recruiting, hiring, and onboarding.
Our Approach
This is not a typical people ops position, and we are not seeking to fill it with someone who is interested in working in traditional ways. At Agile Six:
  • We cover many areas as a lean, cross-functional team (you might see yourself working on screening, benefits, DEI, swag, or our website). We believe great things happen when we find the intersection between our individual strengths and the organization's needs, and then sense and respond within that space.
  • We do not negotiate salaries or pay commission to anyone on our team. Instead, we focus on equal pay for equal work and shared responsibility for outcomes.
  • We really care about what we do and are looking for someone who brings the same passion for building a better Government and workplace.
  • We don’t overly rely on process. We believe traditional organizational practices often lead to misaligned incentive structures and a false sense of security at the expense of wholeness and outcomes. Instead, we listen, seek to understand the needs of our clients, partners, and teams, and then sense and respond.
  • We do not believe that “any revenue is good revenue.” Instead, we pursue work where we can deliver better outcomes for people, and we work hard to hire Sixers who share our purpose and values. We seek to build long-term relationships with Sixers built on trust, wholeness, and shared purpose. To do so, we prioritize empathy, emotional intelligence, and clear communication.
  • We do not set or pursue growth targets. Instead, we seek out partnerships and work where we can create the best outcomes for users of government services.
Responsibilities
You will not be solely responsible for these areas, but rather working as part of a cross-functional team equipped with the knowledge and authority to contribute across the organization.
  • Lead onboarding sessions on company values, benefits, and operations
  • Facilitate pre-hire date communication, send swag and publications to new Sixers, and communicate new hire information to the larger Enterprise Support team
  • Onboarding
  • Build and maintain a pool of potential candidates to facilitate staffing projects quickly and effectively
  • Work closely with project teams to determine hiring needs, create position descriptions that align with those needs, assemble and train interview panels, and support team-based hiring decisions
  • Work closely with our People Ops team to facilitate effective and efficient onboarding for new Sixers
  • Support and serve project teams in performing full lifecycle recruiting for a variety of positions (including software engineers, product owners, delivery managers, and UX researchers/designers), seeking candidates who align with our technical needs and core values
  • Contribute to our cross functional team in other areas of need that align with your strengths and interests. This may include supporting the employee experience, DEI initiatives, benefits administration, marketing, or other areas within the logistics of People Operations.
  • Recruitment (full lifecycle position coordination, sourcing, and interviewing)
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in People Operations
  • Strong interest in facilitating onboarding logistics for new hires
  • Comfort with public outreach and public speaking around the mission and roles of Agile Six
  • Ability to prioritize and systematically work through various business needs and priorities in a self-managed environment
  • Proficiency running and iterating recruiting processes
  • A commitment to contributing to a culture of wholeness, self-management, and trust-based teams
  • 1+ year of experience in full cycle technical recruiting (including recruiting software engineers)
  • Experience working as part of a team, with demonstrated emphasis on collaboration, communication, and self-management
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (we currently use Greenhouse)
Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in Civic Tech
  • U.S. Veteran
  • Experience working with Government agencies
  • Experience working with Agile teams
  • Other experience in Human Resources or People Operations
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates
Salary And Sixer Benefits

The salary range for this position is $112,670-$118,448.
Our benefits are designed to reinforce our core values of Wholeness, Self Management and Inclusion. The following benefits are available to all employees. We respect that only you know what balance means for your life and season. While we offer support from coaches, we expect you to own your wholeness, show up for work whole, and go home to your family the same. You will be seen, heard and valued. We expect you to offer the same for your colleagues, be kind (not bossy), be caring (not directive) and ready to participate in a state of flow. We mean it when we say “ We build better by putting people first."
