The Los Angeles Unified School District is the second largest school district in the nation with an enrollment of nearly 575,000 students. The Los Angeles Unified School District’s Property Management Office is responsible for the property management and tenant relations activities for the District. This office coordinates and communicates with District’s staff and non-District tenants regarding property and tenant issues, request and concerns. This position is works out of the LAUSD’s downtown Los Angeles headquarters.
About the Job
The District is seeking Property Management Assistant(s) to join the team that ensures that all District tenant/occupants and property needs are responded to efficiently and quickly.
Job Duties
- Maintains and updates confidential occupant information records such as work location change and new vehicle information.
- Assists in troubleshooting badge and parking issues.
- Assists in the access badge and parking management of the LAUSD Administrative Headquarters building by reviewing and verifying badge and parking requests; reviewing parking allocation assignments; and inputting key card requests in the parking and access system.
- Responds to calls from building occupants regarding various maintenance issues and requests and creates trouble call tickets.
- Validates request forms from departments and issues validation stickers as needed.
- May assist in issuing temporary visitor badges by scanning and loading various forms of identification into the Visitor Management System (VMS).
- Prepares reports related to access key card information, parking fees, and the subsidy program.
Education: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency..
Experience: One year of commercial property management experience related to operations management, property maintenance, or tenant relations.
Special Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs.
Special: A valid California driver license and the availability of private transportation, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.

The ideal candidate for the Property Management Assistant maintain positive tenant relations and delivers outstanding customer service, must be a self-motivator, possess excellent phone etiquette, must convey a highly professional manner, and must be highly organized with the following abilities:
- Following up to ensure tenants concerns and services are resolved.
- Managing multiple priorities in fast-paced work environment.
- Prioritizing work and demonstrate a strong sense of urgency in response to tenant needs in any of the District properties.
- Changing priorities on short-notice.
- Exercising excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Preparing daily report of all tasks at hand for clear communication and record keeping purposes.
- Anticipate needs and follow up
- Exhibiting strong writing and communication skills with problem solving mindset.
- Tracking and managing work orders.
