Property Accountant Jobs

We have an outstanding opportunity with a fully integrated retail real estate company in the San Diego area. With a portfolio of more than 50 entities, our client is seeking an experienced candidate for a Property Accountant role. The Property Accountant is responsible for understanding and reconciling all balance sheet and income statement accounts, and analyzing any variances from budgeted accounts.

Salary: $75-$86k

Location: Remote, with a few corporate events and in office days as needed. Candidate must reside within driving distance to 92075.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Reconciliations on monthly basis all bank accounts
• Manage rent-rolls
• Ensure assigned general ledger accounts are adequately documented and reconciled for all assigned properties
• Prepare various reports for monthly financial reporting
• Review transactions and make recommendations for accruals and deferrals
• Prepare journal entries, worksheets, reconciliation and other documentation to ensure that transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP
• Analyze and prepare real estate tax payment
• Prepare assigned reports and analysis for internal and external users
• Facilitate review of reported transactions with property department heads
• Assist in the compilation and review of the annual property budgets
• Ability to reconcile and analyze all balance sheet accounts which includes reviewing loan documentation and leasing agreements to ensure proper accounting practices

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience with Yardi or MRI is preferred; excellent computer and analytical skills including a proficiency in Excel and CAM exposure
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required and real estate industry experience required
