We are seeking a Project Manager, Health Administration to report to the Sr. Director, Health Administration & Finance to drive operational efficiencies and effectiveness across the global Health Services organization. The Project Manager is responsible for impacting the productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, managing projects, and communicating objectives between the multiple functional pods within the Health Services department. They must have a high level of comfort with distilling technical healthcare operational information into easily understandable explanations. They will be responsible for writing, disseminating, updating, and maintaining critical business operational projects and initiatives.
The Project Manager interacts with a multidisciplined team and gathers information from a variety of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop process flows to create clearly written, user-friendly processes. Develops a process development review procedure to ensure stakeholder acceptance prior to launch of processes.
The Project Manager will utilize skills with minimal supervision to drive performance improvement projects by conducting operational assessments; providing advanced statistical analyses; facilitating project teams and work groups; presenting project results and improvement proposals; and developing measurement tools; and demonstrate tact and diplomacy under all working circumstances, to enhance operating capabilities.
The Project Manager has a broad corporate function, interfacing with medical and public health teams from all nine cruise operating lines within Carnival Corporation as well as leaders from multiple departments across the global corporation. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a project execution role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration.
The Global Health Services organization has team members located across multiple international cites and onboard our nine fleets with a total of 95(+) ships.
Essential Functions
  • Requires regular movement throughout CCL facilities
  • Maintains effective relationships across departments and within all levels of the organization
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives
  • Analyzes data from customer surveys and proactively consults with leadership to learn where there are gaps in knowledge and improvements to be made
  • Determines an effective structure and layout for execution of departmental goals and documentation/communication
  • Completes ad-hoc projects and assignments as necessary
  • Meets with all areas of the global health services team to discuss their processes and refine and suggest improvements of business processes to improve quality and efficiency
  • May be requested to work a different shift
  • Coordinates review and approval of materials before their launch
  • Less than 25% shipboard travel likely
  • Writes, maintains, and updates all process-related documents, including employee-facing instructional guides, process maps, flow charts, and procedure manuals
  • Develops/Maintains a department SharePoint site to house all process and procedure, projects, and other critical operational documentation
  • Distills highly complex steps into easy-to-understand directions with the goal of ensuring team member comprehension, efficiency, collaboration
  • Understands who to go to for needed information and when information may need updates based on current events
  • Monitors feedback on procedural material and addresses questions or concerns as appropriate
  • Conducts research and interviews Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather relevant information
  • Uses Microsoft Office products, including Visio, to create documentation
  • Analyzes data and proactively consults with leadership to learn where there are gaps in knowledge and improvements to be made
  • Designs and maintains SharePoint library for ease of use and ensures that documentation is properly catalogued
  • Monitors feedback on procedural material and addresses questions or concerns as appropriate
  • Writes and edits content to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure
  • Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Proficiency with computer based analytical and reporting tools such as reporting tools, databased applications, and project management software
  • Preferably in a large corporation or healthcare environment
  • Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment
  • Requires at least 3 to 5 years of process improvement and/or project management background
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Bachelor’s degree in, Industrial Engineering, Business, or Healthcare Administration
  • Experience in lean project management methodologies including facilitating cross-functional teams and being a change agent
  • Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications
The range for this role’s base salary is $85,000 - $105,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
