We are seeking a Creative Development Manager oversees new content creation and installation for new ships and fleet installations, they will conceive, develop and guide entertainment productions and /or experiences with the aim of continuously improving guest satisfaction and supporting strategic goals for Carnival Cruise Line. They build teams, assigning Line Producers to facilitate the creative development process and Project Managers to lead the installation process. Oversee the development of templates and workflows needed to create and install shows and experiences. Serve as Senior Entertainment representative during a new build startup to ensure a successful launch, partnering with technical, operations and new build departments as well as the vendors and contractors involved. Manage the contract negotiation process for partners and contractors.
Essential Functions
  • Ensure that they are following the Carnival brand standards including culture, safety, environmental and DEI initiatives
  • Collect Analytics and performance metrics to identify opportunities to improve existing entertainment offerings to support the development of a 5-year plan
  • Manage the RFP process for new production shows and entertainment experiences. Present submissions to management for consideration
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new processes and systems to drive efficiency including project planning and workflow documents to aid in the successes of delivering new shows and entertainment experiences on budget and on time
  • Serve as Senior Entertainment representative to the cross functional project teams assigned leading up to and during the installations to assure proper skills, focus, teamwork, communication, creativity, moral and motivation are maintained, and venues and projects are completed ready for a successful launch
  • This requires partnering with entertainment technical, operations and new build departments as well as vendors and contractors
  • Sets and administers budget
  • Own the contract negotiation process including master service agreements and vendor management
  • Including yearly survey’s and TGEM data for guest feedback as well as collaborating with the management of production shows and entertainment technical to identify ships/shows that may require the creative and technical production installation teams to update production shows and entertainment programming
  • This includes entertainment production shows, entertainment activities, games, parties, events, music, parades etc.
  • Source, develop, manage and lead the contracted project managers and line producers for production shows and entertainment experiences for all newbuild entertainment creative development and installations including further rollouts across the fleet
  • Provide a precise and clear vision of the entire product as well as the individual needs for each production to be installed
  • Liaise with departments such as Casting and Booking, Marketing, Food and Beverage, Bar and New Builds etc. that are involved or support the new entertainment product to ensure clear communication, collaboration & culture
  • 25-50% with shipboard travel likely
  • Serves as the main liaison with legal department for all partnership agreements and contractor service agreements
  • Partner with the entertainment management from each discipline during the development process to ensure they can service each project with the technical and manning needs required, ensuring compliance with all the safety protocols and to identify any concerns for delivering the product in continual operation
  • Supports the high-level strategic planning including building of budgets for new build installations and for the rollout/installation of entertainment offerings across the fleet
Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of cruise ship entertainment and Production shows
  • Bachelor's Degree in Entertainment Management / Entertainment Business / Project Management
  • Excel, Power Point and project planning and workflow experience is essential
  • Strategic thinking to find solutions to complex problems that can balance short and long-term objectives
  • Willingness to travel and to be onboard for newbuild and fleet wide installations
  • 10 + years in the entertainment industry, preferably in the cruise industry, 5 years’ experience leading teams and projects
  • Must be computer/tech/web savvy and be proficient with all MS office products
The range for this role’s base salary is $75,900 - $105,000. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.

  • Sick Time – All full-time employees receive 80 hours of sick time each year. Part-time with benefits employees receive time off based on the number of hours they work, with a minimum of 60 hours each year.
