About The Role
As our hands on the ground in the US, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our international growth plans in a sustainable, people-focused manner. We need someone who is excited to help us take our employee experience to the next level through delivering great People Operations service. We need you to be confident in US employment law and comfortable implementing our People Ops practices. Reporting into our Head of People (based in London), you’ll be working closely with our People Experience Lead (based in London) and the rest of our People and Talent team.
What you'll work on
Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on. You will:
  • Work with our Finance team and external providers to support payroll and manage US benefit enrollment
  • Champion company-wide team culture and embed our values through every part of the employee journey
  • Be the “go-to” person for all People policies and processes in the US (e.g. onboarding, offboarding, benefits, 401k, visas, employment contracts, sickness, maternity, etc.)
  • Be a presence in our New York office in order to provide general support and manage ad-hoc requests
  • Use, train and encourage adoption of Lattice (our performance platform) to enable better manager and employee experience
  • Be our hands on the ground in New York, helping to manage all the ad-hoc operational things that don’t yet have a home at 9fin (e.g. office moves, desk setups, office socials, equipment ordering etc.)
  • Implement any new People policies and processes across the US and UK
  • Support with all US employee relations issues (e.g. performance management, salary review, career progression, etc.)
  • Operate as a trusted ally and advisor, supporting all US employee queries
  • Maintain data accuracy in HiBob (our HRIS)
  • Support wider People and Talent projects.
Requirements
This role will be a great fit if you:
  • Are able to work asynchronously in a hybrid working environment, working with teams in two time zones.
  • Have good knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws in the US
  • Are tech-savvy (we use HiBob, Lattice, Google Suite, Notion and Miro)
  • Are a self-starter who is comfortable working with high levels of autonomy
  • Can bring new and creative ideas to the table so that we can craft a truly unique culture and employee experience
  • Are a positive, problem solver who can work at pace (we’re a scaling startup, so you need to be able to adapt to constant change while maintaining recurring tasks)
  • Can administer our global benefits functions, medical, 401(k) and equity incentives
  • Are proactive and enthusiastic about People Operations, with a strong attention to detail and ability to remain organized
  • Have recent, demonstrable success in People Operations, even better if it’s in a start-up environment
  • Enjoy collaborating with and learning from other members of the People team

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
