We are looking for a People Operations Manager to help ensure the integrity of our agency’s culture. As our company continues to grow, we’re looking for someone with experience in human resources so that all employees work in an environment in which they are equipped with the structures and processes that provide for the stability to produce the highest quality work while enjoying the process of doing so.
The People Ops Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our employee lifecycle for our full and part time employees, as well as contractors.
Your goal will be to deliver a smooth experience and ensure we foster a people-first culture – creating an environment and culture that serves the heart of the company – the employees.
What you’ll do:
- Support processes for the employee experience and performance
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team to define the vision for culture, and own communication and ongoing training regarding our principles, values and culture across the organization
- Support department managers in carrying out their responsibilities pertaining to personnel and recruitment matters
- Own end-to-end employee experience and touchpoints, from onboarding through employee exit management, including all-staff internal communications, training, and professional development
- Work with department stakeholders and leadership to manage and develop hiring, recruitment and onboarding strategy
- Think broadly and in detail about how to refine, develop and design the organization and its ways of working and operation, and understand how to implement these practices in a timely manner
- Coordinate with building management to ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Support with recruiting for new hires. Drafting job descriptions and ensuring all interviewers have what they need to facilitate thoughtful interview processes.
- Serve as the first point of contact for payroll, benefits, verification of employment, and other employee questions.
- Foster collaborative relationships across the agency and with client teams to galvanize the appropriate support and feedback
- Create and maintain personnel policies and procedures, including performance management, employee handbook compensation approach, annual review process and goal setting
Experience and Skills
- Excellency in project management systems, thinking and/or platforms like Asana; proficiency utilizing Harvest, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Suite, DropBox, and understanding how they can integrate with creative workflows
- Proven experience working across the employee lifecycle
- Unimpeded by challenges, and able provide many solutions
- Nimble thinker and strategic problem solver—thinks in terms of short and long term effects of decisions
- Being able to address issues/deliverables in a timely and effective way and driving accountability on the team and with key partners.
- High attention to details, excellent communication, and planning skills. Must be able to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
- Easily organizes information into systems and processes to accurately deal with large volume of needs on a daily basis
- The ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures, ages, and economic backgrounds
- A keen appreciation and understanding of the art for social change world
- Familiar with budgeting and profitability tracking
- Communicates plainly and directly—with empathy and insight.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources or similar role
Salary + Benefits
- The Soze Agency is a worker-owned cooperative. Full-time employees are eligible to become co-owners after 2 years of consecutive employment. Benefits to co-ownership will be discussed during the hiring process
- Unlimited vacation after one year of tenure, allowances for gym membership, cell phone, and personal development stipend
- Salary band for this role is $70,000-$75,000 with participation in profit sharing
