Position overview:
The Payroll & HRIS Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day US payroll & HRIS administration. This position will be part of Tencent North American Compensation & Benefits team to ensure not only the timely and accurate payroll process but also the efficiency/optimal solutions of our HR systems. The Payroll and HRIS Specialist will also provide exceptional service to Tencent American employees and interact with internal and external shareholders including but not limited to HRBPs, IT, Finance, third party vendors and service providers. The role will report directly to North America Human Resource Director.
What you will be doing:
- Perform system upgrades, as well as provide training and technical support.
- Collaborate with HRBPs and other stakeholders to determine HRIS needs.
- Ensure proper payroll deductions and contributions are made and perform semi-monthly/monthly audits.
- Maintain confidential and accurate employee and payroll files.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Run ad hoc reports, create/file reports as needed.
- Optimize HRIS processes, integrate new software, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Audit HR, payroll, benefits and worker’s compensation data for accuracy. Identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Administer time and attendance systems and leaves of absence requests
- Process multi-state semi-monthly payroll for hourly salaried employees, including reviewing and importing hours from time and attendance system, entering direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, garnishments, benefit deductions and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Analyze HRIS performance metrics and resolving application issues.
- Act as expert on payroll platform and processing and continue to improve the payroll SOP
- Create user accounts, manage access, and update employee information
- Support Compensation & Benefits team to ensure the compliance filing deadlines are met and complete with accuracy
- Maintain all payroll information related to the calculation, withholding and remittance of federal, state and local payroll taxes; enter data, update information and prepare reports as needed
- Develop and implement new processes and systems for efficient HR management.
Preferred Experience:
- Must have and strong understanding of and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of multi-state payroll laws and regulations; especially related to time and attendance and payroll tax withholdings, preferably with exposure to RSU payroll process
- Experience in analyzing HRIS performance metrics and improving processes.
- Experience in performing diagnostic tests and audits, as well as documenting processes.
- Ability to keep up with innovation and trends in HRIS Administration.
- A minimum of 3 years experience as an HRIS administrator or Payroll Administrator.
- Excellent verbal and written communications and strong interpersonal communications, Mandarin speaker is a plus.
- Highly organized, good common sense and intuition; highly self-motivated
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, HR management, or similar.
- Proficiency in HRM software, such as ADP and Workday HCM.
The base pay range for this position in California is $68,000 to $140,800 per year.
Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
