Opportunity Statement
We are searching for an Experienced Payroll Specialist to manage a multi-state payroll for our company. This role works closely with other functions including People Operations, Accounting, and FP&A teams.
Role Responsibilities
The Experienced Payroll Specialist is expected to pay employees and compile payroll information by managing payroll preparation, maintaining records, and responding to payroll inquiries.
- Completes new hire and termination payroll procedures, including any adjustments required for final payroll
- Understands and ensures compliance with state and federal taxation laws
- Maintains confidentiality with all payroll information
- Responds to payroll-related inquiries as needed
- Works with managers to ensure time and attendance is accurate prior to payroll processing
- Other tasks as assigned
- Processes off-cycle payments as needed
- Coordinates with People Operations for onboarding and terminations
- Ensures the accurate and timely processing of Weekly, Biweekly, and Semi-Monthly payrolls in a multi-state organization
- Assist in processing accurate and timely year-end reporting
- Prepares ad hoc financial and operational reports
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
- Assists with maintaining payroll guidelines by creating and updating policies and procedures as needed
- Ensures accuracy of and updates time off balances
Skills and Experiences Required:
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, and taxation related to payroll
- 2+ years of ADP Workforce Now Experience required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Detailed and results oriented and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to maintain the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience required
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills:
- NetSuite experience highly preferred
Preferred Education:
- BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting or other similar fields
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $85-125K/year+ bonus+ equity
