The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) is a growing, not-for-profit organization, headquartered in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, serving the automotive collision repair industry globally. The organization was established by representatives of the collision repair, automotive, and insurance industries in 1979 and has doubled its revenue over the last six years.
Today, the I-CAR brand is stronger than it has been in 40 years of operation and has gained a worldwide reputation. There is momentum and excitement among its committed workforce, instructors and volunteers to continue to help the organization grow and expand its breadth of reach and scale. I-CAR leadership believes that the future of the organization will be importantly influenced by its continuing innovation and relevance of its products, technical programs and services.
Position Summary:
This position will have an instrumental role in developing and executing marketing strategies for three of I-CAR’s key customer segments: Insurance Providers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and International I-CAR licensees. They will be doing so as a strategic member of a cross functional sales and marketing business team. This new role has been established to improve the communication between I-CAR and its key customers and support the relationship management teams in meeting the needs of these key customers.
This individual will develop marketing strategies, with a focus on message development and channel delivery that resonates with the target audience, including digital media. They will collaborate cross-functionally on projects with key external and internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Sales, Product Development, Talent Programming, and others. They will also work closely with functional marketing staff including CRM, digital media, communications and event planning leads to create distinct, compelling, and coordinated content and events that articulate the value proposition for new and ongoing engagement with I-CAR.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with Product and Technical teams to deliver timely and topical webinars to various industry audiences
- Develop and deliver successful marketing communication plans for ongoing sales support and product launches including defining objectives, identifying audiences, message mapping, determining an integrated marketing mix, timeline development, budgeting, execution of all deliverables, and success measurements
- Oversee digital communications including email development and bulk broadcast, SMS targeting where appropriate, and adhering to relevant channel regulations
- Support the Insurance and OEM/International segment sales team by attending I-CAR and industry events, trade shows, and meetings, and capturing and leveraging the Voice-Of-The Customer, for improved segment messaging
- Ensure consistent adherence to brand guidelines and trademarks in all marketing materials and activities
- Plan and execute internal and external communications including product sheets, collateral, web content, trade advertising, call center scripts, newsletters, booth graphics, case studies, signage, testimonials, and other support tools
- Develop sales toolkits, inclusive of video content, from concept to delivery, working with production teams, and develop briefing documents and scripts for call center to support sales efforts, tools
- Constantly explore, recommend, use and optimize communication methods, vehicles and technologies
- Ensure media coverage through press releases and press conferences and develop key relationships with industry press; expand media reach to broader audiences, including consumer
- Plan, organize and execute events including tradeshows, customer and partner meetings, industry shows, sales training sessions and other corporate events.
- Support executive leaders through presentation and script development for segment-related activities
Requirements
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in the automotive, insurance, collision repair or related industry; international experience a plus
- Proven ability to establish relationships to align with and meet objectives
- Relevant level of financial and business acumen to inform marketing initiatives
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in marketing, marketing communications, or relative experience desired
- Successful experience with marketing strategy development
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field; MBA a plus
- Passionate, enthusiastic and collaborative, with potential to grow with the role
